I was going to buy a tablet for my 16th birthday, but i decided not to... im probably gonna save my money to build a computer...

hmm tablets are worth it, i got one a few days ago :) love it and ive been using it.

wacom graphire 3

by no means is it like pencil and paper which IMO owns.

a scanner would be fine, but for painting its your best bet.

as for the painting, it looks nice but needs to be refined.

also are you going to enter the new CGtalk challenege ?

=P I was going to get the intuos 3 but I didn't like the look over the 2, so I got the 6x8 intuos2 platinum.

Tablets are definately worth it :) I can recommend it for anyone (who can draw).

I think mine is like a pencil and paper, but I have an Intuos3 so... It&#39;s probably different.

I have a scanner but it&#39;s only A4 and when I paint I paint BIG :P Like 15"x30" and bigger.

It&#39;s kinda meant to be a rough style, like a speed painting.

Hell no! I am nowhere near good enough for CGTalk.

I thought the exact opposite! :P I preferred the look of the Intuos3 which is why I got that one... I got the 4x6 one cos I draw really small things. One of the reasons I always carry around a 4x6 sketchbook in my bag :)
