UI've heard that alienware are overpriced and aren't worth the money, just get a custom dell or something , they're cheap and you choose your own parts.

Never, EVER say get a dell... I hate them. They dont make their products. They put them together. And they have some of the worst craftmanship ever.
Nobody (using the term alittle loosely here) makes their own parts. When you buy an X86 system basically the only thing you're getting made by that company is the sticker on the front, maybe a keyboard/mouse, and if you're lucky the case. However in most cases all that stuff is subcontracted to a manufacturer and the company just supplies design ideas. Just because it says "Alienware Soundcard" doesn't mean they made it. It means they had someone else make it and style it to look like it was alienware... computer resale and computer manufacturing are two totally different fields.Quote:
