Shisha is also known as "draw", "hashish", "hash", etc. It is a resin-form of cannibis. You have to be careful where you get it from though because unless you know the person who is actually producing it, it can generally be full of crap, like sawdust, soap powder, stuff like that. That&#39;s why poor quality "draw" has the nickname "soapbar" because of it&#39;s low resin content.

And dude, why do you buy hookahs? I swear they are the same as a standard bong, only with a tray at the top to keep your shisha in! :P

i have used a shared bong thing before and i found it all depends on how hard you suck, if you suck pretty hard then you ll take a massive hit, cause your obviously sucking more than anybody around ya. i have only ever used one once though but thats my opinion!

lol, i know i know.. but ive been smoking hookah sence i was like 9 and its hard to get a ok one in the USA with out paying out the ass for it.. My parents sent me my old one.

i know what it is you use to light them lol.. i dont care it still taste good..

the age-old practice of smoking Shisha, sometimes known as "hubbly bubbly." Basically, the shisha itself is tobacco leaf, a little molasses, to add flavor. This flavor tobacco is placed in a bowl on top of the water pipe under a burning charcoal made from ______ " not all coals are made of the same stuff". When inhaled, the smoke passes through a chamber of water inside the pipe (which makes a quiet, relaxing bubbling sound) to cool the smoke. The cool, flavored smoke is generally puffed or inhaled deeply to obtain the maximum effect of flavor.

Shisha is generally sold in a shisha parlor,internet,hookah cafe, and other places, much like a coffee shop. It&#39;s not hard to find such cafes throughout Cairo, and other parts of the world, as shisha smoking is becoming very popular among residents and tourists alike. I paid LE 2 (about $0.60) for a shisha that lasted well over an hour, and I also ordered water. Prices will vary, as I went to a parlor well off the beaten path, whereas a parlor in a downtown hotel may charge slightly more. The most that I have ever heard anyone paying was LE 6 (about $1.70), and that was at a beach resort hotel. although in the USA it is around $10.50, and that is alot...

Many shisha parlors serve tea and coffee (often Turkish coffee, Gahwa), and many also serve light Egyptian snacks. There are several locations where a parlor may be located, ranging from waterfront to storefront, or hotel lobby to inside restaurants. All are tastefully decorated and well ventilated, and many will set the perfect atmosphere for enjoying the culture with light music in the background.

There are a few rumors circulating about shisha that make many people wary about trying this fine treat. Parlor pipes come with removable, plastic mouthpieces that are new when you come and are discarded when you leave to make sure the process is sanitary. as well most places will wash the hookahs and hoses after every use. Like I mentioned before, the establishments are generally well kept and very clean.

There&#39;s another rumor that women are not welcome in these shops. While this may be true in small parlors well off the beaten track, this is certainly not the case in most places. I have been to parlors full of women, Egyptian and foreign.

Finally, shisha smoking is nothing like tobacco cigarette smoking. When one inhales on a shisha, the smoke is cool and is very flavored (many places offer multiple flavors, most popular being apple, double apple "two apple" and cherry, also pomagranit/grape mix is great.). The amount of tobacco is very small, making it inherently less dangerous than cigarettes. And the other question raised was as to whether or not non-smokers would like shisha. Like I said, the smoke actually tastes good, and is not strong. Even the most ardent non-smoker will probably enjoy this (that was me going into this when i was like 9). It even smells good, much like the scent of baking apples over a wood fire or something like that.. maby not it smells great though..

In conclusion, I recommend to everyone that you at least try a hookah or look for a hookah bar in your town as an after-meal treat. The price is right, and you will take away the experience of true Egyptian culture as many have enjoyed it for meny meny years.

and no its not pot or other kinda of drugs.. you wont get high.. pot ruins the hookah.. it stains it..

its just for a relaxing time.. however you can get a buzz off it sometimes.. but only for a few seconds..

Oh right it&#39;s that stuff... We don&#39;t have those parlours in England. We have "head shops" that sell Hookahs along with things like bongs and pipes and flavoured skins, rolling material, roach paper, legal "highs" and stuff like that. The only thing they won&#39;t sell is the products to actually be used in the things they sell! Most people in England use Hookahs to smoke cannabis or hashish in. And you&#39;re right, it does make them dirty and they are a pain to clean after weed has been in them!

I will try and look for one of these "shisha parlours" to go and try the experience! :D
