you should try using some brushes to help create a background. check out the tutorials section, arsonist's tutorial is very good for beginners. as you progress you will learn to implement more tools into ps. dont worry my sigs were worse than yours when i first started.
yeh try some brushes out for the BG, if your using brushes the basic thing to o is to get a black BG and put white brushes onto it, you should just stay with basic text don't use the special effects they nearly never look good, i think for size you should go for something around 330x120 maximum

No offence, but I think this is worse than all of the signatures you made above. There are lots of empty spaces and the BG is really flat and dull. The renders are too small on the signature imo and Master Chief looks a bit squished.
You need color on the BG to make it look more interesting...Work on blending in your render as well. Keep trying though :)

Pretty nice, I think you should change the colour of the background so it flows a lil more :). Keep trying :).

well i just re did it well the right side, because, a fellow Sig Maker, suggested i went back and grunged up the right side some more, and the final effect i got was this
