Maybe if you put a picture of your result , then I can give my oppion much better
actually it helps to try out sum effects with the pinch filter...maybe it is a lil bit crappy, but helps ;)

pretty cool looking... the only problem is that it's an optical illusion, so for some people, it'll look like a spike pointing in their direction
