This issue he is pointing out was the main reason how the site got hacked with that implanted virus.
Chris is going to explain to me how to install the update. So it would be fixed tomorrow
Hacking in general is pointless. Sure, this guy had a point - that the site was hackable. Like I said, if you really think about it, there is no point to hacking community forums in general. Its just a result of boredom. He may call it being a good citizen or w/e, but I call it having nothing better to do.
We'll update IPB soon till then search is disabled.

so has the problem been rectified or is he still on the loose?
The search is disabled, the update hasn't been installed yet because not everyone has access to the ftp and a some of the staff are not very active this week because of exams etc :)
End of the week search will be up again :D
