What if I develop a "theme" engine which allows me to change the cells background colors to the banner's scheme.
I'll remove this graphic and replace it with CSS effects and simple text.

I think you should have the "art" text cut out of the orange rectangle, and see how that looks. Kills off the drop shadow and conflicting white/orange colours.
FYI the reason you dont like the orange is that... is that... it has the arts drop shadow on it making it look dark compared to the rest of the logo i feel you should remove the square.
