No offence to 43, I cant imagine how a host could actually permit that without overcrowding there servers. I'd just be worried with going with hosting companies offering crazy deals.
I suggest http://www.dotsimple.com, its a great hosting provider. I have been with them for about 4 years now, and its owned by an adult (thats a nice perk, I know for a fact that a few of the hosts listed above are owned by kids younger than half your age). I suggest you contact him via aim @ johna11en - im sure he can help you for waht you want.
thanks tacox, i will look into it. I do want somethinig professional, so that would imply that an 'adult' is running the show.
My current host is run by an adult, but hes a one man show. And that therein lies the problem. I need something a tad bigger than just a couple of guys who thoght that they can re-sell bandwidth and make some good money with just a few cheap servers.
So I spose my requirements are that they are professional, not a backyard mongrel. Have mysql and php and ftp (ssh would be realy nice, but not required). Dont realy need unlimited email accounts, though i would like unlimited ghost or fowardings if possible.
[edit]
they look quite good and have good reports on various forums, not reported for being spammer friendly which is very important.
I like the look of the v300 and v500 plans.
But like every other site, they dont say what happens when you run out of bandwidth, any ideas? (I presume one of the stats shows current usage)

The stats do show you your current bandwith standings. Some charge your account X amount per every gig over, some put an error up, etc. I believe John's service may put a server up.
Before purchasing an account, I suggest you talk with him on aim. Im sure he can strike you a better deal.

Sorry, I was away camping with friends for the weekend.
Well I assure you we have plenty of resources for it. And we aren't exactly rolling in customers, either. We're very small still, just starting up. Our pricing model is based more towards companies than single users. All our money comes from design, with only a slight profit being made on hosting...that's how we keep the hosting costs down. We figure this way people that host with us will tell their boss or friends that run small businesses that we're out there and do good work. Word of mouth is the best advertising you can get. I'll be honest, there are deffinetly some downsides to going with a small company for hosting, but we try our best, and it's nice that you can work directly with someone you know instead of a technical help line.
Ryzee was correct, and thanks for speaking up for me during my absence!

That's our "blank canvas" package. We don't give a temp page or anything like that. Just the server, the domain, and VDECK. But through VDECK you can choose from 100+ templates to use. I won't lie, some of them are really ugly but a few of the newer ones are nice.
We also have a Blogger package for a $55 (instead of $30) setup fee we'll install Wordpress 1.5 on your server for you, which is a nice CMS for blogging. I use it on my personal blog, very easy to use. however, that's probably useless for you. I'm sure you could isntall it yourself, the package is targeted at the computer illeterate. You can get wordpress for free at www.wordpress.org.
If you'd like more information or want to see a detailed list of what we offer feel free to instant message me on AIM at Unit Number 43 or email me at number43@verizon.net or PM me :). Our site's not up at the moment I'm finishing the design of it as I'm writting this and it should be up this time next week, the address will be www.digicomplex.com

Thanks for the info 43. I might message you abot it, but wont be till next week, as I'm away this week (well from tomorrow - tuesday).
I wont be requiring any design work, that I will do myself. I tend to use my domain for experimental purposes as well as trying to get my company in order. I wont be blogin (well have no plans to anyway), but i do play with some fairly advanced stuff.
Btw, what type of streaming do you use? I developed a site using MS Media Streaming. streaming side was nice, MS encoder was a dog though (was a few years back now). Live streams are fun to play with, specialy when bouncin em all around the world.
