I don't think the top looks fake.

This is the 2nd time I hear that I'm good at blending, thanx.

Don't know what to answer on that one, one important step may be when I paint some black at the sides of the sig to create some tones between dark and light spots.
Also use the adjustmentlayers wisely.

v.1 is numero uno and you should delete the orange/black dosent even come close to the other 2.

After looking at it a bit more the top does look kinda fake(even though it isn't), probably because of the sharpening.
