Drop the boxes, and the text. The stroke looks terrible on them, and they're way too attention grabbing. Your focus should be on your stock, since it's just so much nicer to look at than your text, so stop trying to grab the eye with it. I'd clean up his face a little, too, there's too much going on overtop of it. I'd also try and do some more subtle things to bring the focus more to your stock, like darkening the outside edges, or desaturating them, by the tiniest bit. The key to doing that properly though, is subtlety.
Tight effects, just needs more work to bring attention to them, so the eye isn't all over the place.
