That's fucking awesome.
that is freakin sweet.
HUGE improvement man. the planet looks much cleaner and the glow from the comet looks awesome. i like the background stuff you added too, but why is the moon your favorite part?
VERY NICE!! How long did the whole thing take? (From making the renders -> final cleanup)
B][G K: Thanks. :) Dunno, I just think it's fun that it gets crushed like a.. like a..
Big E: I think it took at least 8 hours. The render itself took 40 minutes to render in Apophysis, at quality 2000. :)
your final looks a lot better than the first, though the only observation I can make is that you have the light of the comet affecting the colouration of the planet, which in reality wouldn't happen, based on how you have everthing positioned. Also the glow you have around the comet isn't realistic.
Of course I'm a stickler for realistic space scenes, but your type of work was very popular during the late 70's and 80's. In all honesty I've seen a lot worse work published in books (though they were painted not gfx) and I think your effort is a quality peice of work.
I Really like this one i wish i could do stuff like that, But i don't have the skill nor the patience...Ah well great job mate!
Thanks for telling me that. I was kinda unsure about the reflection on the planet, but I thought it would add more to the feeling. :DQuote:

And I didn't really know how I would want the glow around the comet, so I did it this way. I think it looks ok though. :) Thanks for the comment!
