extracting?HELP

cool its the extract thingy.whats does it do? and how can i cancel it without closing my PS?

Ok I just opened up Photoshop and tried them. I had them mixed up.

It's:

Ctrl + Alt + X = Extract

Ctrl + Shift + Alt + X = Pattern maker

I tried them both and they did exactly what they're supposed to and brought up the appropriate window. Clicking cancel on either one just canceled it and closed the window. But it didn't close Photoshop.

But the extract thingy, use it when trying to extract something out of a background. Like if you're trying to use a render but you dont want the background its on, then use Extract. Select what size brush you want and trace along the edges of the render. Then fill it with whatever color (the default is blue I think) and hit OK. Then you will just have the render without the background. Here's a tutorial because I'm not good at explaining shit:

Extract tool is used when you want to extract a certain something out of the whole image, it isnt very acurate butisvery useful for you guys doing sigs.

Anyways, inmy opinioin, your cs3 sucks get another. its probably coz you got a bad copy.
if its not the case, then another thing is that your pc cant support the load. Whats your specs?
