The phenomenon of the Crazy Frog being number one in the charts shouldn't be that suprising. This sort of thiing has happened over and over again by songs which could be called very artisticaly challenged.
Give it 6 months and everyone will have forgotten it, except for those who still use it as their ring tone.
The interesting part of this is that the company that pushes that ring tone knows that interest will wane, and depend on it. They want revenue for new ring tones so will always seek for more tunes that can be both annoying and funny at teh same time. I'm sure this will go the same way as reality tv. Everyone will be pushing an annoying ring tone and people will get tired of them.
