I always use references to do vector work. For this one I worked straight off a picture for the model, everything else was just out of my imagination. Generally I'll either work from a picture, or draw up something, then paint it in photoshop, and then trace over it with illustrator.
now thats nice mate. i reckon you could do a series of panels on this. i reckon the girl was okay, but depends if you want to go for static or for action. you could do one with a girl and an umbrella, maybe a dancin in the rain version around an old fashioned light pole, etc.
Bloody beautiful mate.

Wish I could have illistrator. Cause I have already brought CS2 I rang Adobe to find if they would give me a special price to buy Illistrator. No go, gotta pay full price, something like 800 bucks... what a joke. gotta wait for CS3 and then upgrade to the suite :(

It would be cool if you had some very subtle stars in the background, to give it a more nighttimish theme.
nah, i reckon ixnay on the tarssay... reckon that the way it is is perfect as its simple and elegent. a moon, rain and the shadow... its simple and perfect :D
but thats my thoughts
interesting idea MT, i'll give it a shot and see what I think. I do wan't to keep it very simple, but the possibility of maybe some slight cloud/fog and/or stars is intruiging. And since this one's all about me, I can do whatever the f*ck I want.
Very simple, yet majestically crafted together.
I don't remember listening to any of Led Zeppelin's music (I'm sure I've heard some of it; gonna have to check my dads CD collection, I'm sure he has it), so I can't critique in the emotional criteria, per se.
Now that I've learned that there was no real emotion put into this piece, I'll get on to crittin'.
It seems you've had simplicity in mind throughout this piece - and I must admit, it's effectively done. The objects in this image circulate seemlesly in, what I feel, transcience. I agree with MT, it needs some stars. Stars to give it some life, and a greater sense of depth. However, I'm pretty sure you didn't comprise depth as an element in this piece (assuming so by seeing that all the other elements of this image is quite simple).
One object I'd consider changing is the grass of which the model is sitting on. I think it pulls away from the background unnecessarily as it's more contrasting in the same area of gradiance than that of the rain.
As for the text, I'd bolden it.
*yawn* My mind isn't working all that well at the moment.
I shall crit more tomorrow if you wish.
I think its great!
I like how you have the figure sitting on the bottom of the picture with its legs hanging into the boarder, it helps the whole pic to fit together IMO.
Very nice work #43
you'd think that the bright part would be at top where the light source is . but it's nice. I never used illistrator.
Nice thing to point out but IMO it looks great how it is, it kinda balances out. A bright object (the moon) in the dark, and a dark object (the silhouette) in the light.
