I was 6 at the time, But it doesnt seem that long ago..
I remember the 7/7 bombings on london better. Probably because it was so close to me.
I was 18 at the time, had just woken up to phone calls from my parents about it and watched it unfold on tv from about 30 minutes after the first plane hit.
later in the day, I went and bought every newspaper with the heading about the attacks and saved em. Still have em too. I remember I was upset about it it was a wierd day all around, I wrecked my brother's camaro that night when he had asked me to fill his car up with gas, I ran over a curb and fucked it up, I remember cause it was the first time he let me drive his car and the last. RIP everyone that died that day it was very sad. Good thing they got Bin Laden 10 years later. :) Too bad they never got the real mastermind (Bush).
At work, I saw the second tower fall and I knew then it wasn't a joke. If any of you remember watching the footage, you could actually see ppl jumping to their deaths. I cried for the ppl who felt that was the esiest way out.
I actually have clippings still from it as well ( though I have never saved clippings on anything else in my life) I'll take some pics today if I can find my book in my basement :)
lol edit post. I was 17
I was only 5 or 6. I had no idea what was happening until a week later. Sad stuff though.
shiv was just out of diapers and learning to walk. :)
I live in New York City. I was evacuated out of school and had a hard time getting home. I could see the smoke from where I was as it was creeping into the area. I remember being scared. Bad memories..
I was (and still am) a bit older then the rest of you.... I was at work and I remember it very well.
We layed down most of the work that day to see the images on TV.
We were shocked to say the least.
Slave, people had to jump otherwise they'd get burned alive!! The heat must have been unbearable!!
People hanging out of the windows to get air or to escape the flames.
Firemen and policemen going in to rescue people got burried alive when the towers collapsed.
And well, I don't know how you think about the conspiracy theory, but I believe that it wasn't the alkeida that did it.
The towers couldn't collapse from just the planes and the fires the way they did......
So Bin Laden got punnished yeah, but I am afraid the real killers still walk.... but that's my opnion and you may differ of coarse....
I saw a footage yesterday on TV. It was a compilation of recordings made by people who were at the place at that time....
There was a man who told that he was 15 minutes late for his work in one of the towers, because he watched a football match that morning. So he was a alive because of a match, but his buddy-coworkers he didn't know wether they'd make it!! The unbelieve when the towers went down.... The people staring into blankness.... The sirens, the injurred.... I can go on and on...........
What sick minds can plan a thing like this??? And what was their motif? Money?? Power??
Did they laugh when their plan worked, were they happy? Look do you see how well our plan worked??
Writing this I am crying.... again...
I remember it saying something about a woman who was about 30 seconds away from the towers collapsing and her toe rings were too tight and she had to adjust them several times, So in theory, the toe rings saved her life.
