I think the colors on the font are having trouble with the background.
Try using an overlay or something, I always try using an overlay or layer blending style on every text I use in a piece, alot of them make a big difference in looks and feel of a text, especially on unique backgrounds like those.
**Just my personal opinion here, I'm no pro so this method may not be "technically accepted", but it helps me out alot on my fonts and text styles.

Okay. One of the requirements is the font needs a clipping group, so I have to put some dumb image in it. So I need to mess with the blending style, and i need to find a kickass font now. okay. it's all good. i'll keep posting it with different fonts and effects, and tell me what you think.

tips for font:
until you get good, just use plain color, if needs be, a bevel with size1 (so its hardly noticable, but gives depth)

I have to use a clipping group for the font, it's a requirement... but i'll find a generally same colored picture.
