It's amazing, it really is.... One thing I kind of have a problem with though, is that the background seems solid instead of gaseous.
vnj, u hould really make a tut about the cloudy stuff that surrounds the planets and stars... alot of us newbies would appreciate that :)

awesome work there, the star atracts alot of un-welcome attention in my oppinion, maybe if it's flames where somehow being sucked into the hole, a stretched bunch of flames...

Some of you have commented on that the star is a bit out of place, so I made a second version that has no star. Instead, the light source is the cloud itself (made it brighter). Also made some small changes here and there. I am myself more pleased with it than the first one. What do you think?

And for the cloud, it's an Apophysis render, as I mentioned in the first post (that's why I called it experimental). Download Apophysis at http://www.apophysis.org. Of course I made the fractal myself. I didn't save the file though. >.<

Personally i like the 2nd one better, the lighter colors make it look better, and the disaperance of the white star makes it look more mysterious...
