Purchasing a laptop?

I suggest you purchase a desktop replacement. You may pay around 1,000$ (for like a toshiba or a gateway - ideally get a Toshiba or something along those lines) and you'll got one powerful computer! 1k can buy you a 3.2ghz 512ram 64bit 17inch screen thing - well worth it. I wouldnt suggest investing anything less than 1,000 in a laptop - you'll get a horrible mess.

Dell makes nice products, but you will have a hard time upgrading a Dell as they're usually incredibly incompatable with other parts.

I'd definately go with an Apple, my sister has one and she loves it.

yea, I'd personally like an iBook, but I don't game... I'd just design. If you want a great gaming notebook I'd suggest not getting an Apple. They are not gamers' ocomputers.

stay away from dells. stay the fuck away from dells. i have a dell laptop, and i can stay i am not happy with it at all. ive had to replace the charger and the LCD. I've also had to format my hard-drive 2 times in a year, once because of virus', and once because some internal dell program fubared with a game i installed, and refused to let windows run. Also, their customer support is utterly useless. one time i get a guy from INDIA, named ELVIS. also, they start to slow down once the hard-drive gets a bit over half way full. And last but not least, the wireless is awful with dells, so unreliable.

3000 dollers for a peice of shit.

Hehe, I know better than to do anything with Dell's. Just from what I've seen about there habitual product problems and working with there support from on-site repairs I've been doing, it's a big hassle.

I don't think I need that big of a harddrive...I'm barely using 7 gig's on my desktop, and about 2 of it is crap. I think i'm going to end up going with an Apple. As long as I have internet ascess I don't think it'll be much of an issue with compatibility. The only actual game I play right now is Runescape, but I might go back to Diablo 2 with the release of the new patch coming. Doubt that will happen though. Thanks for the imput guys, looks like it'll come down to Apple vs. Toshiba depending on price ranges and tech hardware stats.

god bless blizzard making their games compatable with macs. if i had my way i'd have a mac. but, yah know.... parents and all.
