GTA: San Andreas Banned

Atleast the patch preventing third party mods like this is released :D. I do wish I had the game though...

The point that pisses me off is that you couldnt possibly unlock it without using 3rd party software (action replay, mods, etc) - so it technically wasnt part of the game.

This is really going to hurt the sales if it can't be obtained at most retail stores.

I've seen it on sale in canada man. ( stayin' in victoria for a few weeks) I buy a lot of games up here, so maybe this is the right time... My girl (canadian) cousin was shocked when she saw it on the shelves. She was like " OMG they have grand theft auto! its supposed to be banned!" She had this disgusted look on her face and I just smiled and said, "That's what you get for living in canada." She sort of ignored me and continued on her disgusted streak with expaining to me why this game is sooooo evil. Like i haven't heard this before. I really didn't know what she was talking about since we moved and we were without cable, internet or any window to the outside. at least i know now.

That sucks, its a good thing I got GTA:San Andreas before this happened.

GTA is no worse then the parents who let the kids play the game. To be honest, ESRB should get the shit, and not rockstar. the fact that ESRB let GTA:SA through with this little "easteregg", and rated it M, instead of AO means that they could not find anything. Its really the government's own fault for this, not rockstar. as far as i know, rockstar did a well enough job disabling that part of the game, and the only way to reach it is by actually looking for it (IE haking the game). Why dont they take other games off of the shelf with "easter eggs" like that. i mean for fucks sake theres a cheat in the original sims so that when your sims take a shower, the blurring of their private parts disapears. And that is actually in the retail version of the game, unhacked.

Personally I can appreciate the amazing amount of code and innovation put in to this game but feel that it is all wasted on the message. Also people sjhould have the ability to discern the game from real life and not blame video games for the stupid stuff they do.

yeah the only reason is of the rating now... Ao normally isnt carried in stores due to the stores losing reputation... its only due to actually typing in the code or hacking so its the consumers fault...
