villian, that comment doesnt help him, he already knows its spyware, and its very, very, VERY unlikely that some hacker hacks ur pc and locks everything down.

and bfg, i thought my pc was spyware free(several programs didnt find anything)
but after ur trick ad-aware found 62 files, 1 regkey, and 1 regvalue :lol:
The only trick is turning off all of the startup things so when you try to delete them they can be because there not running anymore. I find them and delete them meself :P Plus I don't go to near as much questionable content as I used to.Quote:

I tried many many things, and even rolled back my computer. Still the virus couldnt be contained and my computer continued to choke. Unfortantly I couldnt salvage any of my files, but had a copule upload, and saved on differnt computers.
Thanks for all the help, but I had to take this one for the team and wipe everything
lol.. dragoneye. Yeah, viruses and spyware can be very devistating. I suggest running a spyware checker everother day. Even if you have FIREFOX! It will emensly help keep your computer clean. Also run virus checker every 3 days to every week. It will help alot too ;)
Then make sure you have only trusted programs starting at startup. (like aim, msn, yahoo, BUT NO LIMEWIRE OR P2P)
We dont want your PC locking up again.... but incase it does, we gotta backup those files. Always save your most important files on another pc, network, memorycard, disk (either cd, dvd, or floppy), flash drive, or an extra HD. This will keep your files safe. =)
