You mention that we'll never be able to achieve what CX had here a long time ago... does the name CX represent more about the past successes of this community or the present time and future? If "Climb-X" is only representative of what once was, maybe it's time to consider changing things up a bit. It could be a new start for the community in a way as well as something to look forward to. It probably should be done if necessary, especially considering that many who are still here consider "CX" to be finished.Quote:

Changing the name wasn't ever really a main focus of mine. I was really just responding to your posts about that being a possibility. My initial question in the mods forum about the name was simply in relation to whether it had any other "meaning" beyond representing this community. So far, noone has mentioned what "Climb-X" actually *means*, only that it is what this community was originally called.
I really would like to know the importance and significant of the name Climb-X. Why is the "name" of the site more important to some members than the "community" that exists under than name?
In any case, I certainly do not want to see this community lose any members, especially those who have been here for a long time. But, if changing the name (or really anything else) would benefit this community overall, I probably should do it.
I really dont care if this place gets sold. I mean i loved it when it was up but oh well.

You act as if you didn't care at all about this place but I'm pretty sure that you were a mod and you checked this site a lot and cared about it. Wait, what? I'm not quite following what you mean by "dont let anyone else be Global Mods because we have one." When did I ever do that? Wasn't it MTB that did that or was it Metal when he changed up the staff?
If you didn't remember, I didn't agree to whoever took you off staff (I think it was metal... not totally sure), and I didn't agree to many of the staff changes because they had been based off what had happened in the past. And well... people change. So I didn't think that was a fair assumption.

I know Myst and Jack were admins because Makaveli was inactive, and I realize that they were trying to get this back on its feet.
John however will be able to give this site many more oppurtunities in improvements. I'm not saying Myst and Jack's improvements would have been bad. I'm saying that having a professional website developer putting forth constructive support along with Myst and Jack will simply raise the potential for this site.

When Metal came back into the picture, he tried to turn things around by hiring some of his old mods and admins. Yes, it worked for a bit and I could see CX coming back (i.e. new contests, $50 cash prizes). It seemed almost as if Allan could afford everything for CX, and get us anything we needed. However, he became inactive. Things started to slow down, the community started to be inactive so I stopped posting and just came here to read and see if anything new had happened, occaisionally posting. That life that had once existed in CX had sort of disappeared. Which really explains my inactivity.
Forgive me for it, and no-offense but I'm sure you guys hadn't been here posting every day either...

He comes here almost every day but doesn't really post - we were trying some new ideas with the main site but we couldn't contact Allan and when we did, John had already bought the site.

I did check in nearly every day, I didn't have time to post much. I had started at a new job which I had to be at until around 11 pm almost daily. So time was something I didn't have. Starting today I'm taking a 2-3 month leave of absence (sabbatical, whatever you want to call it) from the job. That being said I'll have a little more time for hanging around here :D
