whoa, thanks John, great work so far, keep goin man this site is gonna flourish now that it is being maintained have you thought about a donation option for users to donate directly to you?

a black skin would be nice, imho. :3

contest for custom skin would imo , get people involved and make gfxvoid look a little more eyecatching ( and a suggestion box :P )

I just deleted a few of the spammers. Was the spam you saw just in the intros forum or in a bunch of forums throughout the site?

Regarding custom skins, we'll definitely look into customizing the colors, images, etc. I'm hesitant to customize any of the site coding, though. I've found in the past the custom skins with heavily modified coding often causes issues with future upgrades as well as mods.

I haven't really considered a donations option that will always be shown on the site. What I have thought about, though, is maybe using a chip-in style service to help raise funds for specific things or maybe even making premium subscriptions available for anyone who would like to help financially support the void that way. If paid subscriptions do ever become available the free access option will still remain available as well. Premium subscriptions would just include a few account perks for subscribers.

Thanks for the update. Can't wait to see the final product with the fixes. Great job and thanks. On a side note about that donations, an anonymous donation box or something like that would be good. Premium membership doesnt fit to the void's community at all imho.

I agree with wr about the donations. I think anonymous donations would be best, just for the sole factor that donors do not really play a role in this community. In my opinion, all this will lead to is people who think they are better than the normal member.

We've thrown this idea around for a little bit, were not sure if it will happen because there is a lot of coding involved and not just skin design. It is a good idea though for people who can do both

Maybe he means a suggestion box thread? We had one at one point. I could make one again I suppose, but is it really worth it?

I personally wouldn't have a suggestion box. I've seen that idea on various forums and it always seems to turn into arguments. As well as that, some suggestions are based on what an individual wants, rather then what the forum needs and will work better with. For example, someone could suggest we add Gamertags, PSN accounts and Nintendo IDs to the profiles, but being an art forum there really is no point as gaming is not what people come here for.

If you have a suggestion and do think that it'd be worth looking into, send me a PM and I'll bring it up with the others.

We're also looking into a skin already that might look good on the forum. It's been mentioned with the other staff that having a skin contest may not be the easiest thing to run since after we obtain the completed skin we'd have to go into coding it and splitting up the image into various components. I have a mate in Spain that does forum skins for a living and he says that the usual ratio for creating a skin is bout 30% graphics and 70% coding. Not the easiest thing to get right and sometimes better left to someone that knows what they are doing. In saying that, there might be a few other comps coming up that you guys might be interested in so we'll keep you up to date on those.

As for the problem mentioned about the formatting, it seems to be a problem with entering the advanced posting options and looking at the message in the preview section. Still looking into that at the moment.

Note: Some of you guys might be noticing a fair bit of spam popping up lately in the intro section. We are working hard to keep on top of it since the upgrade altered our anti-spam settings. Just suggesting that you don't post in ANY of the spam threads while we are controlling this issue since the ban hammer is working a bit of overdrive and we don't want anyone caught in the crossfire.

The old shoutbox is not compatible with version 4 so we are looking foran alternative. I'm pretty sure it was mentioned in the thread before since Linda asked the same question.
