havnt herd of them.
I'd say greenday is more of an introduction rocker band. Once people get more into rock bands, they tend to shy away from the pop-rock bands.
You mean 'wannabe' then, people go around listening to them like "Yeah i'm a rocker" sort of attitude.. or most people i know, that listen to them think they're rockers.
I definately only listen to them if the come on the radio, which is like every third song... because they're a top 40's band now. I really like their old stuff, specifically from Dookie, but back when it came out and I was all about The Offspring. Smash is by far the best album ever released by any band.
I like them...but i don't love them. I like their new stuff better..i hate punk rock...it annoys the hell outta me. like new charleotee >=(
I voted 3.
I have some of their albums, but I seldom listen to them anymore.
Woah...That exactly how I was. Except I soon realized how absolutely horrible rap was :) .Quote:

Dookie was my first CD ever - and I loved nearly every song on that cd (that was a quality cd). I think I followed them a bit longer - but I started getting more into rap in 6th grade (I got that when I was in 3rd).

Their best album was Dookie and then they went through this stage where it was all just cookie cutter copies of Dookie, but this new album looks really good. I think they've gotten sick of doing the same old stuff and actually want to make a good CD. Not a great band, but their new CD is worthy of $16 price tag.
I think American Idiot (the album as a whole) was almost like an experiment. I mean I think they just wanted to "break the mold" and do like a concept album. cuz really, if you watched Storytellers with them, that's what it is. It follows around this guy "St. Jimmy" and it's all about him. I love Green day, and actually just got tickets the other day to see them on Sept. 11th here at the Palace of Auburn Hills. (it's where the pistons play)
Dookie I think was their best album, and I have it. I also have others like Nimrod, 1039/Smoothed out Slappy Hours, and International Superhits. I think that Green Day can stick around for a little bit longer, I just hope we get one more album after AI, that's more of a Dookie type album.
Them as a band, they are really tight. Mike Dirnt is awesome at playing the bass, and Tre Cool is just a phenominal drummer. Billie Joe is no slouch at guitar either. Listen to "One for the Razorbacks" the solo is great...
