Ghosts and such, real or not?

I do believe in ghosts, although I have never experienced anything, apparently I don't have the "gift". What really made me believe in such stuff was the fact that my girlfriend was scared to turn her back to a certain spot in her room. A friend of her mother is some kind of medium, and he could, without that she had told him anything, or nowing anything about the history of the house, say that the energy from a woman who lived in the house when it was a bakery came from exactly the same spot in the room. He could even give a detailed description of the woman that was correct, according to an old photograph that he hadn't seen.

How the hell could he know that if he didn't know anything about the house, my gf's feelings and the woman?! That made me believe.

Another quite funny thing is that our old appartment apparently is haunted. :D We never noticed anything, but the family that lives there now says that they feel very unpleasant while being on the second floor (where me and my sister had our rooms) and that it's haunted. Kinda funny. :D If it's true, it's like a proof that we don't have the gift. ;)

That's hardly motivating evidence... the movie The Ring scared the shit out of ex-girlfriend.

I did read your whole post. My comment pretty much threw anything you said about your girlfriend out, and I don't really have anything to say about your mother's friend. It's more or less common knowledge that people like that can use probability, logic, and psychology to appear to have 'super-natural connections' or talents.

Before I moved to the house I lived in, I had strange feelings about our basement. We had an extremely noisy furnace, and it scared the shit out of me. At the time, I was about 7 or 8 years old, and playing Doom 2 gave me nightmares.

So you mean that, without knowing anything at all, he just assumed that the energy from a dead woman who worked in the bakery was in that exact spot? He had never been to the house. How can probability and logic have anything to do with this since he had no information. That just seems to far-fetched to me.

When his family visited some friends at their house, he said he saw a girl run around (a dead girl then, duh). They grabbed eachothers hands (I know it sounds stupid), to "send" her or something, and then, his daughter, my gf's friend, started crying really badly, just because she got a really sad feeling when they sent her. How can probability and logic have anything to do with that?

Lol. But these are grown up adults. They aren't scared of Doom 2. I haven't spoke to them or anything, I just heard a rumor, so I'm not saying I believe them or anything, it's just a funny thing.

well, the first one that presents me a 100% scientifically proof gets 100 $ from me, by then it's a matter of faith, as everything else ;)
