Speed Paint thread

Yeah i know that, so you use 100% flow?

Yeah i only change opacity (Y)

I change flow alot.

I use

100% opacity, 95% flow: Blocking in
30% opacity, 80% flow: Blending
3-15% opacity, 80% flow: Detailed blending
50% opacity, 70% flow: Details.

OK. BY now you lot can do the bases, but you seem to just stop after that.

you have the shapes and lighting ok.

Keep working into it, and keep going and going.

And it'll just look better and better :)

I wanna see some peices, with alot of work in them.

I'll do something again soon, but i'm running out of ideas for stuff to do that wouldn't be too hard under 60 min. any ideas?

Ok, speed paint I shall. Ill do one tomorrow, flex my mouse painting skills. If you want to see them check my digital art post, it has two paintings there.

Here it is, unfinished but, 10 minutes work anyway. I might finish it depending on the critique.

Ugh! I just took all this effort in digging my rarely used tablet out of a large pile of stuff on the floor near the computer, then taking 10 minutes to just find the freaking pen... and my tablet doesn't work! And I was so inspired by those tutorials! :(

[editzorz] After reinstalling the software, my tablet works! I didn't bother making anything very artistic or realistic... I drew Mr. Moo! Aww... he's so cute! <3

Um... no, the sole purpose for me posting that image was comments. I didnt get any, so I asked for some. No ignorance or arragonce there?

10 minutes. My first one so I did something a bit easy. :D And used mouse. I was going to add a sun but didn't have any good idea on how to.

I'm still going to work on this, fix the shading, possibly add a sun. I'm done for now though, lol.

haha Im loving these, Anthrax thats a good job. I just dont like the background (space) its a picture or something thats realistic and does not flow well with the speedpaint XD

thanks. yeh, the mouth was a pain, didn't bother trying too hard there.

how do you get the edges refined?

should I use huge brushes to start and use small ones as I reach the edge? or use huge then medium at the edges and erase. i'm talking refined as in rob's apple btw. i could always pen tool a vector mask if i needed too... but it wouldn't feel like a speedpaint anymore haha

oh, and it was supposed to be a monkey (which is why the mouth looks like that) but i guess it can be whatever brown thing you want

Start large to add a base layer if you wanna calll it that, then decrease brush size to add detail. When you decrease the brush size it sometimes helps to decrease opacity aswell. Just to blend the individual strokes in more.
