if usa can trick us with the going to the moon, then they can trick us by planting bombs in the buildings ...
but we did go to the moon, and we didn't plant bombs in the buildings.
Simple as that.
Econmoic gain, They wanna wage war on iraq and middle east, so this just give them a justified reason.
I like new orleans, i dont think its all that sinful. Then why doesnt Las Vegas get destroyed if you guys dont call that sinfull. New orleans was place for entertainment.
2k is not enough to live on your own. An appartment is 1000 a month if not more.
It's enough for food until they get something called a job, then they will be able to afford an apartment.Quote:

Most of them slept in an empty Wal-Mart building, Reunion Arena, and other shelters across Texas, until they could get an appartment.
I know very well 2k isn't enough for an apartment, but the government and Visa provided plenty of money to get them started. They had their previous Credit Card, and Debit Card accounts on top of that. They most likely had more money after Katrina, than the few minutes before Katrina (unless they took all their money in cash, which is very stupid).
I never said Las Vegas wasn't a city of sin, but New Orleans was one. I've been there too, it is obviously a city of sin. Even Mardi Gras takes place there, that's one of the most sinful holidays incase you didn't know.
It takes place right before Ash Wednesday so you can get all your sin out before the holy holiday. That was the point of Mardi Gras.
Now, back to 9/11 again.
Why would they just want to go to war with Iraq?Quote:

Your 'reasons' aren't making much sense dude... tell me why they would want to go to war with Iraq, don't tell me "Economic Gain" because you've already said that at least 4 times.
Tell me what we would gain economically.
BTW: you have a couple spelling errors.

Umm the war in Iraq is not improving our economy. Far from it. If it were a war where everyone supported it such as World War 2, the economy would get better. and katrina was the local government's fault, not bush.
Yeah I'm wondering about this economic gain myself. He keeps saying that but doesn't have any logical reasons to support it.
Bush doesn't have control over Iraq's oil now and he won't in the future because its part of OPEC which is controls prices and oil distribution. Plus, Iraq has contributed only 0.047% of America's crude oil in the past year and 0.040% of America's petroleum. That number has remained steady so clearly oil isn't the motivation.
As for other economic gains, of which I'd like to hear some examples other than oil, so far we've only been getting into debt due to the war. I'm not seeing the profits that we're making.
The economic gain is in oil but, not for the country. The gain is for all of Bushs family and long time friends in the oil business. Also Dick Chenneys old company Halliburton is making a ton of money over there. Yes it's good that we got Saddam out of power but, don't you notice how nobody even talks about finding Osama anymore.
I dont understand how bush would be getting this oil being that it is regulated by opec. I think that the reason we aren't talking about Osama is that we must focus on the task at hand, being that it needs our full attention ;) I believe that once we have finished in Iraq (I can see it still lasting for awhile) we will move on and try to find Osama.
OPEC is what regulates oil trade across the world, although they don't regulate all of it, they regulate most of it. It just depends on how it gets shipped out here, that's the main aspect where the differential in all oil prices is. Bush (like Jack said) wouldn't be getting any better deals than us when it comes to oil.
Plus, oil prices only go up $.01-.02 from when they receive them in the barrels. So, at the pump, you are basically paying the same price as the barrels, at most, only 3 cents more.
That's what I think is gonna happen too.Quote:

There are many people who belive osama is already dead. Most of our oil comes from alaska and canada

Any time theres a disturbance or even the threat of a disturbance in oil manufacturing or it's delivery it drives the prices up. So let's say Osama says i'm gonna blow up 10 oil refineries then the prices will immediatley go up and remain high for a length of time even if those threats aren't followed through on. The war is creating tension and uncertainty in hte oil industry therefore driving the price of oil up.
The people that profit from that are the big oil companies, which the Bush family has many friends in. The Bush family has been in the oil business for many years.
The people who suffer are consumers.

then they need to flip on a tv or open a newspaper, seeing as how he has released new tapes recently
... so anarchy, we're still waiting for your explanation of the "economic gain"
Umm the oil companies aren't doing that good, infact most of them are doing pretty bad
wow... you're smart...Quote:

Most of our oil is coming from the middle east. Saudi Arabia, Iran, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, and Venezuela.
The worlds top 5 oil producers are (in order) Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, and Iran.
Nearly 2/3 of the world's known oil reserves are controlled by just countries along the Persian Gulf.
No, the oil companies are doing good, but that's because they can make a better profit with higher prices. They don't change the prices of oil that drastically though.Quote:
Umm the oil companies aren't doing that good, infact most of them are doing pretty bad [/b]
yeah..where's the econimic stuff coming from..if we went there for oil, we would be in control by now. Also, if we were there for oil there's no point. There's a lot of oil here in the us, im not talking about alaska. Under colorado there's more oil than alaska, so why no go there??
but...all in all, i think bush went to iraq for "twisted" sketchy reasons
It costs more to be drilling in the US than to get it imported... that's why we don't drill here.
Hmm. I don't think the government would set us up. Like stated before, it was a terrorist attack planned by people that hate this country. So what happens happens. We can't control that.
Well said.Quote:

When major oil companies report their quarterly profits next week, they're once again expected to post record numbers. With crude trading around $60 a barrel, the oil industry is enjoying one of the biggest windfalls in its history. But as the industry looks for places to put that cash, it's finding it harder and harder to put funds to work finding new deposits of oil and natural gas.
By just about any measure, the past three years have produced one of the biggest cash gushers in the oil industry’s history. Since January of 2002, the price of crude has tripled, leaving oil producers awash in profits. During that period, the top 10 major public oil companies have sold some $1.5 trillion worth of crude, pocketing profits of more than $125 billion.
“This is the mother of all booms,” said Oppenheimer & Co. oil analyst Fadel Gheit. “They have so much profit, it’s almost an embarrassment of riches. They don’t know what to do with it.[/b]

$400 million bonus to gas exec
As the price of gasoline topped the $3 mark in Bakersfield, it is worth noting that outgoing Exxon chief executive got a $400 million plus perks send-off package for being at the helm when the oil giant made record profits.
Isn't that special?
Lee Raymond, 67, who helped Exxon Mobil earn a record profit of $36 billion last year, will receive a retirement package of nearly $400 million and use of the Exxon jet, a car and driver and a $1-million consulting deal .[/b]
Oil companies are making more money now then ever before.
yep! they're not poor
Yea, they've only said that on the news countless times...
I can not believe American's would do this to themselves, it appears to me as an act of random hatrid of Americans' as a whole by terrorist organizations.

ooo..now i understand..lol
Nhyl actually that furthers my point in america going to war.
And isnt bush administration into oil?
then they need to flip on a tv or open a newspaper, seeing as how he has released new tapes recently
Yeah they have him writing with his right hand(which fbi stated he was left) and having a ring (against his religion)
A Man wearing a ring is not against the Islamic Religion....
I never disagreed with the war. What I disagree with, is you saying that we needed to go to war for an 'economic gain' (which you still haven't specified what would we gain yet), and that's why we destroyed part of the pentagon, and the two world trade centers.Quote:
Nhyl actually that furthers my point in america going to war.

Now tell us, what "economic gain" would we get by simply going to war? War has never helped the economy, so why would it help us in this case?
war has never helped an economy....maybe you should hit the books man. War helps the economy by providing jobs, bullets have to be made, arms manufactured, and all the other supplies the military uses...war provides jobs for people at home.
War helped our economy...dont you remember what was happening before WW2 in America?
Yes, WWII made the US and the Soviet Union the two biggest military and economic superpowers. The reason being afterwards, supply was low and demand was high so even though there was inflation, people want to spend as much as possible. The economy really flourished because of WWII. Thats true, but you can't say that we went to war for an economic gain and we justified the war by blowing up part of the pentagon and two of the world's most important economic buildings. The buildings' destruction hurt us a lot. Consumers' confidence and demand dropped severely and the stock market also took a plunge. Add that to the cost of war (even though thus far, this is the cheapest war we've fought in) and those economic damages will outweigh any gain we get from the war. We did not stage 911 and we did not go to war for economic gain.Quote:

not to mention that our economy was very high before 9/11, then after 9/11 the stock market crashed and we went into a steep decline that we are now climbing out of. i don't see how that was an economic gain.
Bush's family is into the oil buisness or something like that(read it somewhere :/) there's your economic gain.
Anyway screw oil, i'd invest my stocks into Ethenol right now. Thats gonna be HUGE once more car manufacturers start using it.
Yeah, right. Are you out of your mind? Why would he kill thousands of innocent people to get only like a couple of million of dollars? Bush is a down to earth guy and would never kill people just for a million dollars. Its not like him to do anything to endanger the well being of this country. Any person who would think otherwise is just stupid and has to respect for the country.Quote:

Anarchy, you obviously hate Bush. This is a debate, it isn't a place to assume things...

im not a dumbass, thats what i ment. Dont take things literally ya dumbass, you are the same btch since back when IPB went up and phpBB went bye bye
Well alot more then a couple of million dollars are being made, it's more like billions. Also Bush is far from being a down to earth guy. He's been a spoiled rich kid his whole life and if it wasn't for his daddy helping him he would be most likely be a shoe salesman today. As for him not doing anything to endanger the well being of this country. When he was told the WTC was bombed and we were under attack, he just sat there in the classroom and did nothing for like 10 minutes. Lucky for us there werent 10 or 20 planes hijacked that day.Quote:

You probably hate Bush because you believe that he attacked the WTC and he steered Katrina right for New Orleans, then blew up the levees.Quote:

Yeah real smart you are. (Yoda ho!)
First, after WTC was bombed and Bush did nothing for 10 minutes, if you think about it, there wasn't much he could immediately do. Its all pretty automatic. Police and fire departments showed up on the scene along with medical assistance. There wasn't anything he could do in the first 10 minutes that would have dramatically affected anything. His involvement in those first 10 minutes wouldn't have changed the way it played out.
Second, I think he might be spoiled, but from what I've seen, it doesnt seem to have really affected him as a person. When myst said he was down to earth, he just meant he cares and tries to relate to the people. What I don't understand is how anybody could call Bush dumb, then switch it around when its beneficial and say he's evil and devised this master plan to attack our own country and to actually gain something from it.
