what I meant was, do you work from the the bottom "Layer 1" (directly above the "Background Layer") to the "Top Layer"?

NSR answered my question, thanks for the tutorial though. I was actually starting from the top layer working my way down, which is a big reason why the one I was working on before didn't look right.

One thing I'm also having a problem with is adjusting the Smudge tool settings, I can customize the "shape dynamics" and "other dynamics" but I only get grey boxes for the other settings and cannot customize them. How do I fix it so I can adjust those settings?

You should have Scattering, Other Dynamics, Noise, Shape Dynamics and Smoothing...
The rest are supposed to be grey cuz they're for the brush tool :)

That's the thing, I ONLY have "Shape Dynamics" and "Other Dynamics"....The others you mentioned I cannot customize.

Anywaiz. Yeah. My trial of CS3 expired recently. And I've been wanting to try this tut. Damn. Oh well. I'll find SOME way to make this tut work.

What version of photoshop do you use older versions cant adjust that ppl have told me.
