@Sobek: Your are so right saying that people say metal's stuff is awesome, no matter what, but that is what happens when people get up there people don't know what else to say, i have been here a while and i have sen it happen to other artists not just metal, and just so you know it has started happening to you.

LMAO, if I was going to say that someone always had people playing fav's with his work it wouldn't be Metal. Look through some of threads, alot of people say they dislike the stuff he posts up. I don't know how many times I've seen the words "I liked your older stuff better" in one of his threads.

Also alot of the crying about the way CX is run is about stuff that the staff alone can't fix. The C&C issue for one, besides baby sitting the show off forum 24 hours aday I don't see how they could fix that. Thats something everyone either needs to get use to or take it upon themselves to change. Same thing with the fav's thing. Really just because Metal is the Admin doesn't mean he has the power over every poster to make them not kiss so much ass and again I see other members get their ass kissed more then Metal, probably myself even.

As for posting the big thing on RS, they was in the wrong there and it was rather stupid. But I'm not going to say they didn't have it coming. Atleast it gave you some drama to bitch and cry about for a few hours....you people seem to need something every once in awhile so you can draw attention to yourselves, and thats to alot of people at CX just as much as RS.

Metal-

I still stick by those comments. His work is good, but not all of it is as good as those showcased ones. Also, I don't recall saying what you quoted me on, but the general gist of it is true IMO, he has posted work that doesn't really deserve the 20 or so (Well I'm probably exaggerating there, but it was a fair amount) comments of 'wow!'. You have the same thing happening also metal (and a bunch of others around here), and I think in the end it takes comments away from the beginners who need the C&C, especially since the comment posted contains little C&C (Yes its true that wow is applicable in a lot of circumstances, I don't mind people who say it, but its often a waste of time.)

The thing I dislike is the fact that a lot of the admins aren't actually part of the community, and aren't involved with the site. I'll use metal as an example as its really his site; sure, he updates the site occassionally, etc. and posts, but its really only in his own threads or in his friends threads. The majority of CX don't see him as part of the community, and its very rare to see him in threads of the general lesser known community unless its to reprimand. I also dislike that the majority of community will have to be very good designers to get more than 2 comments whereas ideally it would be even or balanced towards the other end of the scale, as they have a lot more need for them. I think you make a fair effort at being part of the community, and I applaud that, but I think you all need to push to improve instead of sitting and consolidating your hold, because CX does have promise and I'd like to see it reach its potential.




BTW, I'm not really part of the 'RS group', I wasn't invited there and I'm not part of the staff, I'm just there because I like it there and because generally they gave a lot of food for thought to help me improve..

Anyway, ramble over. I'm not sure how much sense this made, because I was interupted several times before I actually finished my post. ;)

@ Spluff... First you said that your problem with CX is that you don't like how the administration is run. Now you say that by that you mean Metal doesn't post enough or take an active enough part in the comunity. That also has no affect on how the administration is run so imo you still haven't given a real reason as to why you don't like how the administration is run. You like other people are just jumping on the bandwagon and repeating what other people say without even knowing why your saying it. Metal put's alot of time in behind the scenes here so don't tryto make it sound like he doesn't care about CX or the community. Plus if you actually take a second to look you will see that he does post here on a consistent basis, so even that comment is unwarranted.

So let's take a quick recap as to why people don't like CX...

1. People post cnc in the showoff thread like "looks good" or "I like it, gj". The person that posted that as a reason also admitted that he understands theres no real way for the staff here to stop it.

2. People kiss Metals ass in the show off thread. Sure it happens sometimes but, it happens with other designers also, not just Metal. That also is one more thing that the staff here has no control over and can't stop.

3. Metal isn't active enough in the community here, doesn't post enough. Try taking a look around before you say that, because you'll see that he is active. It's just that he only posts when he feels theres a need to or has something to say and not just spam for the hell of it. Plus he spends a shitload of time behind the scenes to keep this site runnning smoothly.

Now honestly, are any of those good reasons to hate CX or the staff. I'll let you all be the judge of that.

I never said I hated metal or the staff, and I have said somewhere during the whole shenanigan that I respect metal as a person and as a designer.

I see that metal is very active behind the scenes, but I believe that an admin should be actively involved with the community as well, because it may not be this on your end, but this is effectively what it comes up with on the other end of the average user, is that they are being ignored. (I know that isn't really what it is, but without being active all around the boards, at least some time, its what it effectively comes across as). At the moment, I think if all the staff left, the community wouldn't really change it all, which isn't a good sign in my opinion.

Sure, being "ignored" isn't really a reason to hate someone, but it does lead to a dislike of how they ... operate themselves (Another time I can't find wording.)

Oh well, I don't think either side is going to give in, so I guess I'm going to finish up in this thread and get back to what I should be doing.

O wait, I already had...by creating RS. I left CX, I quit giving you my shit, yet still, you have to come and taunt me, on my site, because memebers that are still registered at both are sites, and giving you crap. That's completely unjust, you don't attack me for stuff that other people do, that just makes you look pathetic.

Everyone apparently has their reasons for moving on from CX. Some haven't done it, and others don't want to. But I did, so how bout, you leave RS alone, and attack those that you have a problem with. It's really immature to attack RS, for stuff that other people are doing, see as the admins are doing NOTHING to you.

And spluff, I did invite you there. You weren't active for a while, then one day you really started posting.
