Light Over Animation Tutorial

I must be doing something wrong and Im pretty sure I followed all the steps so this is what I got tell me what im doing wrong

Figured it out ctrl g makes a group for me and I needed to make clipping mask so just say make a clipping mask next time please

I use CS2 and I cannot for the life of me get this to work. I get a light bar that goes over the entire image, not the text. Help?

how,if you can, make the part of text that is not lighten disapear??

I can't understand this -
select the first frame and drag the layer with ur gradient to the left so u cant see it
then select the second and drag the layer with the gradient to the right so u cant see it Can some1 explain deeper please?I understand anything exept the last part about animating all these things...And how can I duplicate layer in animation window ???? :confused:

I really dont get the step on the animation, when u "Drag the layer to the right", WHAT DO YOU MEAN, and could you be a LITTLE more descrepitive, especial yon the layer to lighten, cuz i have ps7, and it really just doesnt work when u group and lighten it, it just darkens the text, i would like a BIT, more of description

Good tut Much easier to understand then the other one I saw for this effect. However I'm confused on something. I'm not sure How you got your finished picture. I followed the steps to the T and I either have one big strip of light to I tried cropping the gradient in Photoshop before going to image ready. SO I had a small line but when I play the animation it just doesn't look right The light doesn't blend to the shape of the letters like yours does. What Am I doing wrong? Oh and does anyone know hoe to slow the animation down?

Dude ur stupid. This tutorial is for retards because u made it. Remake it and clarify the damn thing. i did lightning and the stupid gradient doesnt blend INTO THE WORDS . THE WHOLE DAMN THING IS VISIBLE FROM TOP TO BOTTOM OF MY CANVAS. Not to mention lighten or screen doesnt work. and grouping is useless. REMAKE AND MAKE SENSE.

btw you can go to the last frame, and press 'tween with first frame' to make it go back n forth
