Too much salt will kill you, even though the body needs it, likewise for water. The sodium and water in your body have a balance. If you disrupt that balance by drinking too much water, the cells absorb the water and expand.
But wait, theres more! If enough water passes into the cell, the cell membrane can't stand the pressure and ruptures (cytolysis, i think..). It's sometimes fatal, since there is not much room for brain cells to expand. Other times you will get a seizure or lapse into a coma.
You will DIE or have a chance of dying. :P
