Set your opacity to 100% and it should fill it black again.
OPacity affects the transperancy of the layer. SO since there is white behind the black, when you make the black more transperant you are just brightening it.

Awesome!
I knew that, but in the directions it said set it to 17. =/
Ah I apologize i did not specify.
Fill your first layer black, THEN create another layer smudge and set the opacity to 17.
ok thanks, ill try that out now. ill let you know if i have any more problems.
Edit: when i get to the part were i do control + alt + G. it doest do anything. i still have the splatters.. Do you know how to fix that? sorry if this is really easy to fix... im noob with photoshop.
um. yeah. Make sure the part you want to go in the splatters is directly over top the splatters layer in the layers pallette and in the sig and then kit CTRL-ALT-G.
If that doesn't work hover your mouse over the line between the two layers and then when this like 2 circly looking icon pops up click and it should do the same thing.
Ok, ill try this out soon. Thanks, hopefully it works becuase i really want to make a sig like this.
Simply Love IT!
