Which System Are You Getting?

Now ontopic, I did want to say that in Israel all we get at stores is PlayStation, but TBH, when I look at the screenshots on game sites, the ones from the XBOX version do look a lot better. And if I understand correctly, it's like a media center too, right? Sounds good, though I don't use my PS so I don't think I'd have the time to use the XBOX... But I'd pick the XBOX I think, if I was given the choice.

if i had money growing on my back i would buy the XBOX, its a media center, XBOX Live is leaps ahead PS multiplayer, in the future prob also inviting gamers with MSN Messenger. And its already here :)

Even if the graphics of the PS3 would be better it won't be much, the XBOX would be a lot better then my Geforce 4 MX440 :-#

the media center is just part of it. the 360 has another OS which is called the xbox dashboard, which u can access your songs, videos, demos, themes, avatars, friends list, messages, other media, pictures, xbox live marketplace, xbox live arcade.. goes on and on. its hot.

and the ps3's graphics are not better than the 360 by any measurable margin.

How would you know? It's not out yet. :P

i have a 360, and i have seen the ps3's hardware specs, and they perform just as well as the 360's specs.

According to PSM the PS3 is not set to come out till around the beggining of 2007. So technically those specs could change. Then again they couldn't but if the Playstation Three would like to sell more then the XBox360, then they should try to do more then Microsoft. :P

I have just found this information on the Xbox260 and the PS3, and quite frankly I am quite upset with the overall performance of the PS3, like I said in my previous post I am hoping this changes...

the xbox could have video chat i'm sure.. someone'll prolly come out with a cam. not that i'd use it

:) Yes that is true... Then again the only reason I own a Playstion and not an Xbox is becuase I like the Resident Evil Series, and the PS controller. But the PS3 controller looks really... long, so i might be switching to the Xbox360.

lol yea the 360 controllers are very good, i dont think i'll like the ps3's.

and you never know if the resident evil series will come over to the 360 or not. GTA was never expected to, but rockstar knew there was a lot of money in the xbox, so they did.

Don't you have to pay every month or something to use the XBOX Live?

I think theres a year package which will help more than paying every month, and yes resident evil 5 is coming out on 360 they say for 2008 is the official 360 magazine, but it could be rumors?

I hate when games go multiplatform. It sorta kills the urge to buy a certain system. Other then MGS, GT, and a couple of other games, RE was supposed to be a big turn on the for PS3. At the rate the system wars is working, i'll probably end up buying the cheapest system at the time (Considering they'll just about have the same games).

Although I will admit I can't blame 3rd party developers for wanting to go multiplatform. But in the end all it's doing is just narrowing the gap of differences between the 360 and PS3.

I honestly think Nintendo did the right thing by going in a different direction, now they can compete pretty much in their own market offering alot of exclusiveness you won't be getting from the PS3 or 360. The chances of someone buying both the PS3 and 360 is now becoming very little (atleast in my case).

I am not getting either i just play AA and it makes me happy plus i just spent my last $250 on a good video card.

Hmmm i was thinkin... the video chat wouldnt be great because well quite frankly i wouldnt ant the pervs to be jack off on cam which happens quite frequently just in yahoo chat rooms which is the reason i deleted yahoo off my computer... hahah but yeah the 360 looks liike its takin the cake on this decision

video chat really is only for people who don't buy the system for games, which just flusters me, but ok.

ps3 doesn't seem as if it will be as customizable as the 360 either, which is a shame.

my brother just got his 360, and i must say Im kinda disappointed with it. When i first got my PS2, it felt like a big time next-gen improvement over the PS1. The 360 doesnt feel all that next-gen to me...at least not yet. Its a good console, but doesnt match the hype. :-/

what hype? incredible graphics? it's not the console's fault the games haven't been optimized to use its technology.

its not the console, its the games. the only games that have really used the technology thus far are project gotham and fight night round 3. if those don't look next gen to you, you have issues.

^^ he is right, but even PGRacing and FNR3 dont use the full power of the XBOX360. It will take some time for developers to make most out of the hardware. A new XBOX1 game looks way better then the first XBOX1 game generation ;)

yes i agree the games u are looking at on the xbox 360 that do not use the full extent of the xbox are probally wat the PS2 games will look like and if you havnt already you might want to look at the link fahad posted a while back... it explains exactly wat specs the systems have and exactly wehich system will rule supreme

yeah the ps has better games but the xbox is better rounded..

well i prefer the xbox's games, but that's just me. i am very excited for some of the ps3's games as well, of course, mgs4 is gonna be great, but there are far more 360 games that excite me (oblivion, too human, gears of war, halo 3(hopefully), mass effect, kotor 3, jade empire 2, bc, fight night round 3 just came out and is insane)

Yeah Fight Night Three is sapposed to be fricking amzazing on the Xbox 360, Video Games have come along way from the Atari havn't they? It amazes me the progress in technology has been exceling extremely fast.

i hope that the designers can start making games that can really use the xbox360's potential , i don't think that there will be that many games that can until at least next year though. I think that the ps3 will be better overall in the end.

Prices for the PS3 (from what I've heard) are supposed to be around $250 or so, but the XBOX360 will be able to out-perform the PS3.

oh, did they lower them? because originally they were going to be 400 i think, but it would have cost sony too much money (700-800 to produce each console) that they are having to reconstruct them and probably take out a few things to make them cheaper... which means lower quality.. which is stupid. the 360 is still going to be going strong, with a growing fan base now, and they are going to try to pass on a console with nothing better to offer than a few different games? i just don't see it happening.

The PS3 they said they are de-laying it to improve on certain things. i think the power and the graphics is going to be x3 better than 360 thats wot they said.

show me what credible source you heard that from.

it got delayed because it was too expensive to produce.

That and i think they are having some problems with the Blue Tooth technolgy being used in PS3. I even heard that in some cases the PS3 would get so hot that its casing would start to melt. So im sure there are quite a few thigns that need to be worked out, and the longer its delayed the better it will be.

certainly it will be better in the sense of bugs being worked out, but again, i will restate that they are having to cut back on their hardware because of its expensiveness. do not expect it to be as powerful as many people will tell you. the ps3 before it was pushed back was just as powerful as the 360. furthermore, if sony is having to cut back on some things, would somebody please explain to me how they think it will be "getting better"?
