i look at it this way.... if i claimed to be a deity and brought to you some book with a load of stories in................ would you believe me? hell no! so why believe in god? its exactly the same principle...

not to mention there is no evidence what-so-ever of gods existence ... none!

do you think that in a few thousand years time, someone will dig up a harry potter book and believe that it actually happened? :P

i really dont understand how people can have such faith and devotion in something that they owe nothing to and is likely not to exist!

I personally think that, Ill live my life, eventually die, and then see what happens, maybe ill go to heaven, paradise, a new life, or something else, or simply nothing. But i do not see a reason to speculate whats going to happen.
Maybe Theres a "god", maybe theres not.
But fighting over about it is just useless, a waste of time, everyone beleaves what they want to, ur not gonna change anyones opinions.

personaly god is a bunch of bs no offence and so is hell is bs to we were all made by a single celled orgainmizem that was devolped over 100's of millions of years that evolved into apes then humands, but whats next? i hear its common now to have 6fingers and 6toes when your born,,,

i think that this whole i believe in god thing is just like the "what happens when you die" with all this heaven malarky.... my theory is that we make our own realities, what ever we believe in happens one way or another i don't think shoving down god down your throat is that way to do it or shoving down that there is no god down your throat will do it, in my opinion god is something that was made up to make people feel secure at help them overcome things.

my belief stands that you make your own reality and i believe we keep living our lives again and again and again.. tbh i think i make at least some sense in that whatever you believe happens, happens but that's just my two cents you can come up with your own realities yourself, hence what i just wrote :lol:

I think God was made made up #1: to control people in the early days. & #2: Because if you look at it based on what you "know", and that you die and then there is nothing at all, that is a reasonably scary thought so of coarse people are going to want some comfort from something, why not an all powerful being?

Alright. You keep stating that God doesnt exist and that there is no such thing as a God but if there was no God, why did people start counting years AD(Anno-Domini meaning in the year of our lord) and BC(Before Christ)?
Also, what do u have to lose? What if there is a God?
Take this as an example - Me and Jo (made up person) are living our lives. Ima christian and he is an atheist. We live our lives according to our beliefs and faiths and morals, and we die at the same time and i go to heaven because of my faith but he goes to hell because of his lack of faith. OR! I cease to exist and so does he because there is no God in the first place. I havent lost out and neither has he. But that is just if there is no God but i do believe there is so why not!

The Anno Domini wasn't developed until Christianity gained dominance around 500 A.D. Scholars then backtracked to calculate the time of Christ's birth. This system has nothing to do with proof that there is a deity.

The Roman Empire used a Imperial Regnal system, which calculated the reign of the Emperor.

People just use whatever is dominant in their culture to calculate time.
