is blu-ray really necessary? not in my eyes.. the 360 doesn't use blu-ray, and it will work just as well. sure blu-ray would be nice, but as you said, its very expensive, and there are more important features of a console that they should be focusing onQuote:

But... its a HD Bluray player in it. And you cant say the specs are hardly different. The Cell Processor is so amazing!
What do you think they should of spent the time improving instead of adding a the Blu-ray then?
I mean I would spend the extra 200 bucks for one instead of waiting and spending 1,000 on a Blu-ray player when it becomes the norm. Which at some point it probably will be.
No, i like the Bluray built in. Its actually a great deal if you think as it of a Blu-Ray player and a PS3

and ck, i say they should have released the console or rather just drop the blu-ray idea. they would have had a more timely release date, as they missed out on some oppertunities, and the console would have been cheaper. i said what i did because i don't see myself ever really NEEDING a blu-ray player, so buying one just to have one, because i can get one cheaper than by itself, would just be foolish
last i actully heard, the 360's HD player wasnt even there...?
and actually, Sony may do another Dreamcast kill. We may or may not see it
