lol this is a on going argument that will never be won, my personal view is that marijuana is a lot safer than alcohol and causes a lot less problems in short term, but if u do start to develop a problem with cannabis its very hard to stop because its all you know. i dont know if people will understand what i mean but its coming from personal experience. i suppose its different for everybody, just be aware of the affects cannabis and alcohol can cause thats all i have to say on the subject.

.ketamine
Well I think head-to-head Marijuana is the safer choice but I think it is the "gateway drug" as within the first week I hit my first joint I was trying valiums and it just got worse from there.

yup, agree 100% ketamine, it is very much a gateway drug. pushers actualy use it as a gateway drug and its how my brother got into the drug scene in such a massive way.
But then I do know others who use a bit of weed and never got into the rest of the drugs. Partly I think its the individual and why they do it, the circle of friends and what they're into, etc. My brother was a big party goer, while the others were more laid back and into Bob Marley.

fair 'nough, i sorta changed my tone half way through my post as I realised a fair few people i know only ever have done pot... i spose the scene your into has a lot to do with it, and what crowd you follow. if your a big crowd follower and your crowd changes drugs, chances are you will too.
I spose the only real gateway drugs are the free samples that dealers give out, knowing that most will get hooked... and thats not realy a gateway drug perse but more a hook.

.. but how about those people who do it not to join a crowd did you take into consideration their view on drugs.. i mean if i was to smoke marijuana ( without tobacco ) i'd sure as hell wouldn't take anything higher i'd only smoke marijuana as a bit of ease every now and again just to chill .... what i want to know though is if smoking straight marijuana is anywhere near as threatening as smoking cigars/ciggarettes ... i know it's the smoke that kills you in cigarettes but it's because of all the rat poisen or the other addictive ingrediants which they put in them ( there are thousands ) does it harm you the same as marijuana if you weren't to put tobacco in it? i know that some people live a healthy diet from tobacco trees so it must be all the other ingrediants which kill you right?

Freak
There are more people who smoke marijuana, than people who voted for George Bush.
I smokes grass for 11 years of my life. It was awesome. Fuck, I even sold it. Not quantity, but I sold enough to smoke for free and have a little extra cash. I had enough to smoke all day long. I also drank like a fish. I still drink a little, but I used to get a bottle of Jack and my friends and I would get hammered and smoke grass. I've never heard of anyone drinking and smoking who got alcohol poisoning cause they couldn't puke. That was bullshit whoever said that. Pot is great!
Smoking pot isn't harmful to you, and it's not for depressed little punks, it's for people who want to expand their mind. If you've never smoked pot, put on your favorite CD and smoke a bowl. It will change your life.
I quit smoking about a year ago, and I still feel the same way about pot as I did when I started when I was 13. I graduated high school 3 weeks into my senior year. I was smoking on the way to school. I always got good grades, and I could always function in class. I always have and always will believe that pot is harmless and should be legalized, and alcohol and cigarettes should be banned, and I smoke and drink. That's how much I believe in this subject. Drunk driver or a stoned driver? Think about it.
Hard drugs that make you sick when you don't have them are also horrible. These are the real problem. The people addicted to hard drugs steal to get them and they are violent and unstable. Pot smokers are relaxed and easy going.
I believe that pot is a harmless drug, and alcohol and cigarettes are killers. It's gotta be population control and money that keep these killers legal. If pot was legal, the government would save money by not spending taxpayer dollars to lock up innocent pot smokers. Also they could tax the shit out of it. I don't know how it is elsewhere, but in the USA the government has a little thing called "The War on Drugs". This is to catch the big dealers and stop drugs from entering the country. Drugs like Heroin and Cocaine. Meth is a huge problem here now too. Anyways, it has gotten so twisted now that we are locking up innocent people who get caught with a little weed on them. This is taking up the jail space, and sex offenders are getting out early to make room for these "potheads" who sit on their couch and don't bother anyone. Violent ofenders are the ones who should be filling the jails, not pot smokers. Would you rather have a violent person, or a pot smoker move in next to you? Unstable and angry, or easy going and probably a really good person? I'll take the pot smoker any day of the week. Weed is 100% cool with me man!
So if you got it, smoke it.
...wow, this is by far my longest post EVER.

i know that's what really pisses me off, how alcohol is legal and has been for years and so is smoking even though both are proven to kill you.... now why is pot illegal maybe just because it's considered newer than smoking and drinking, i think it's retarded that something that even on overdose can't kill you isn't legal and most side effects can be avoided i think alcohol and cigarettes should be banned because i have had more family die from it then anyone who has smoked pot
