Help, please!
I'm not sure if my problem is merely a language problem or if I am still too unskilled to follow through. So I would appreciate a little help and maybe further explanation very much!
My problem is here - pls refer to the red sentences:
I got that very texture ... i.e. the photo and downloaded it to my HD, and opened it in PS. Right so far?Quote:
Let's find some nice textures! If you want, you can create your own, but I won't do that here.
Go to DeviantART and press the button called "Browse", then add these browser settings:
Category: Resources
Subcategory: Textures > Miscellaneous
Display Mode: Thumbnais; 24 per page (you can choose something else here to make the page load a little faster)
Submitted: Any Time; Top Favourites
Then click "Apply Browse Settings".
Alot textures will now appear. The first one is the most popular on whole DeviantART, the second is the second most popular, and so on, but that's not important to us. We need textures that fits the planet theme.
I will use this texture: Temple of everlasting light by `thespook
Once you have found a texture that you like, drag it into Photoshop.
It will open a new document, so select all (press CTRL+A or go via Select > All), then copy (press CTRL+C or go via Editk similar to this:

-- But when I tried to drag it into the other image, it just would not merge with the white circle. (Normally I know how to merge two images...)
Then I tried to make a pattern out of the image and fill the white circle, but this didn't work, as there were these terrible borders (the photo was too small for the circle). And somehow I am sure that anyway, I wasn't meant to do it this way.
Well, yes, so sorry, I am stuck at this early point already.
As I indicated above, language might be a problem. I am using the German PS program, and English is only my 2nd language. But so far, I was able to do all the (easier) tuts. So, maybe I am just not experienced enough in PS as to guess which steps would be necessary to make the thing look like it should at this point in (tut-)time?
I started to learn PS last August by following a regular beginners course made up of 70 lessons, and am now in the intermediate level.
Maybe this helps if anybody is considering to try and help me out.
Thanks in advance! :)

PS: I just opened my PS in order to give it another try. And I realize that I was already unsure what was meant by this:

Press D to restore the default colours, then press [b]A20colour.
Am I doing this on the same layer? (I just have the one black background layer yet - right?)
Sorry, I don't want to unnerve anybody, but I also would like to succeed... *smile*
