FUTURE:PERFECT

This is my submission for Battle #71 at Blue Sfear. The 'concept' we were given was:

The Future - War? Technology? Humankind? World Climate? What will become of our future?

It's what I picture as the future. Desolate, wide open battered landscapes with nothing for miles. Thick smoggy skies and a dull red glow throughout the entire day, greenhouse gasses and over pollution have greated an inferno.

Surreal.. Your choice of colours are nice.... I love the minor details such as the boats and the buildings far away..(Although I think the buildings could be improved).. Nothing bad to say about it really... I was just wondering how did you do the sun?

I did the sun like this:

1. In photoshop, select a large hard brush and roughly dab in the colours of the sky. Make sure the entire sky is filled with colour. Make sure it is a light yellow where you want the sun to be.
2. On a new layer, use the circle selection tool and draw a circle a bit bigger than you want the sun to be.
3. Feather the circle to 20 pixels and fill with white.
4. Go into 'Layer Options' and give the circle an 'Outer Glow' and use the default settings.
5. Import the .PSD file into Painter and select the blender named 'Just Add Water'. You then blend all of hte hard circles of colour in the sky together, and where the yellow for the sun is, you blend outwards in a star shape.

That should work, that's what I did.

Painter is pretty much useless without a tablet to be honest, so if you are thinking of 'buying' it, you may wanna reconsider.

Tabris, my tablet is 4x6. I don't like the bigger ones, you need too much movement to do any strokes. :)
