Verry verry nice, i really like this. Awesome character in this. I just think the text placing it too central, it's a really individual peice, so you want it to show that. And the text is just smooth.. normal type. Maybe a bit of colour on the 'water' where the swan is. Would add some extra character to this. I really like it =)
tree is awesome.. red and black and orange RWAR
Oh and put your name on it... before it's ripped
First off: Wow, that's really nice.
I like the way everything blends together...it's got a really harmonic flow about it, easy on the eyes. The way you picked the colors makes it really stand out to other pieces, they're more unique. Everyone seems to think you have to always pick dark colors to be easy on the eyes, but you really showed your skills by using light colors and still making the piece very pleasing to the eyes.
I also like the text, it should just be placed differently. Maybe in the bottom right corner on the grass or something, or possibly give it a wave effect and place it on the water towards the right of the picture. Overall it's nice and smooth, and good color on the word 'Paradise', flows well with the piece's other colors.
Nice job on the atmosphere, gives the piece a nice air about it. Kind of a dreamy effect. The background looks a little hazy, but the objects in front of the background stand out sharp. It's like when something happens in your past, some of the details can be a little fuzzy but the part that has the most meaning sticks right out.
I know it must seem like I'm rambling, I just think this is a really good piece. Keep up the good work, you're very talented.
So did you just start doing this off the top of your head.. or tried to abstract a photograph , or a tutorial? I'm intruiged :D
Me too, I want to know a little more about the background of this piece.
top of my head. I've been working on this dealy-o on and off for the past 2 weeks. But I only had a tree. The lake and all that funky jazz came into mind today.
But the title itself came before I colored it, so I was all like, "Blah this is all so bland, yet its supposed to be like a serene landscape thing!" Thus came A Vapid Paradise.
Even when I colored it, it looked like paradise, but still has an empty feeling. Like Limbo.
Yeh i know what you mean. I think it only feels empty because it's perfect tranquility... really nice =)
Yeah I noticed the empty feeling at first...and then I was like "Whoa, someone actually fully captured the essence of their piece." You hit the nail on the head man, I'm still in awe at this one.
thats real nice, but how do you do these i really like them
Yeh a tutorial would be amazing.. i'd like to see the technique aswell.
very inmtresting, like it, cant make art like this... love it
may i just ask, what brush setting did you use for the rough brush of the tree, every time i start painting it never works cause of my brush..
anyway, its nice.... good colors :)
np i'll have to get back to you on that... I'm in class right now. ;)
Woot. I really like the colours on this one.
Its great.
i like this one a lot better than the last :D
the colors are great, and it has a nice dreamy feel to it B)
Great Job!
love how you kept the colour scheme to a minimum three, it's nice, subtle and really shows talent.. you have a nack for that and i'd love to see more :)
You know you want to make this amsing thing with no flaws a 1024x768 for me dontcha?
Here is the brush settings:

Its really up to you how to use it, esp the blending option, opactiy etc. Its a really versatile brush setting, depending on the angle, you can make branches, bushes, leaves etc.. For trees, it really helps if you have a tablet, and dabbing it.
Sorry oblivion. I don't think it will look good if I touch it again, I'm still staying with this style for now and gonna make a wallpapa out of it soon. ;)
Three words.
Start painting, now.
__________
Amazing. You need to paint, do it, DO IT NOW.
