This is my first real attempt at making a true vector. I think it turned out nicely. Tell me what you think. 50 layers total, about a half hour of work.

it has a nice abstract feel to it, and almost looks like a face, kudos!
i like your style this was a stock originally?
Yeah the stock is here: Link
Thanks man, I really tried hard on this one.
Lol, evertime you make something- I always love the original. I ecspecially like the way the original was painted.
Anywho, good work. I like it alot. The vector stays true to it's roots, good works.
Haha I don't know, I guess we just have the same taste in art.
Thanks man, I wanted to keep it as close to the original as possible. Glad you like it.
PS - Deadloader:
Graaaagh!
Deadloader attempted to eat your brains, but was violently repelled by someone with a shotgun.
Looks cool nice job. I think the grass could use some work but i still like it a lot.
Yeah I rushed through the grass and just did the outline and didn't bother with the detail, but I think I might go back through and redo it. Thanks man.
looks good but why did you need 50 layers? looks like about 10 to me. anyhow gj.
I did each part of the black outline seperately, plus the lines on the white part. Stuff like that. Thanks for the comment.
Yeah nice job man. One of the better vectors i've seen recently.
It's ok. To be honest, it looks like you used the pen tool for only some anchor points and never cared to manipulate them into real curves. Not bad though. It almost looks kinda half-assed (not an insult) just because of the sharp lines.
That hurts Twan. Nah, I did it that way on purpose. I didn't want it to be all curved and perfect, I wanted to it be abstract-ish and kind of different. I don't know I guess just every day I get less and less encouraged to keep designing and my work is starting to show it.
still a better abstract would be to involve curves but to make then undistinguishable to the untrained eye.. takes a real artist to think these thing threw, just do more preporation before your work yeah? some brainstorms and not just grabbing a picture which looked easy to vector, heck i threw myself in the deep end and i understand alot more .. but i guess if you want to gradually learn that's fine too, but be more suggestive to other styles is my tip, still very nice though :)
sorry to reck your topic with my wide sig
but i like it!.
although it could be done in half the time or even less, a bit more pratice and you should have the pen tool down.
Thanks man. I didn't want to rush through it and make it look even dumber than it already does, that's why it was so time consuming. I appreciate everyone's comments!
i like it hxck ..maybe change the blue on the mushroom to the same blue as the BG and it'll give the holes a see through look
Thanks Peng. I kind of had that idea first time through, but when I put a Gaussian Blur layer on top it made the color lighter. Oh well though, if I ever decide to redo this one I'll keep that in mind.
50 layers, wtfeck?
Should make your shapes smoother, i know you were trying to stay true to the drawing/painting but it doesn't have to be done that "rough". You should make your shapes reach the outline too, it's looks scrappy and unfinished, but good job i guess.
