Comic Book Explosion Tutorial

Ok, this is my first tutorial ever, hope you'll like it ;)

It's very nice and very easy to make. Here's is my final result:

1.
a. Create a document which is about 500x500 and press D to reset colors.

b. Choose the Gradient Tool and use the "Foreground to Background" gradient.

c. Use Linear Gradient and set Mode to Difference and Opacity to 100%.


2.
a. Now just click around like crazy, like about 30 times until it looks something like this:

b. When you are done with that part go to Filter, Stylize, Find Edges.
c. Now create a New Layer and do what you just did again, click around like a maniac and then press Ctrl+F (Filter, Stylize, Find Edges)


3.
a. Now set the top layer (Layer 2) to Overlay and go to Image, Adjustments, Levels and do fallowing:

b. Done!! But now we need some color, I prefer you go to Image, Adjustments, Gradient Map... and feel free to use my gradient, just be sure to mark Reverse!

Black (#000000) Position 0%
Red (#FF3C00) Position 50%
Yellow (#FFF000) Position 75%
White (#FFFFFF) Position 100%

Zh0r, I've been looking at some threads and the most of your posts is really negative and u say like "Overused" in everyone, why don't u make something yourself instead of pissing everyone off?

I'm going to attempt to make a sig with it, but then again who knows my computer might decide to jump on me again :/

Your sig is ripped from a tutorial example on a forum I visit, you've ripped it from the owner, and using it without saying where it came from. That makes you a Ripper.

Think about what you just said. Take a look at every sig you see. Many come from tutorials. Are they covered with statements which state which tutorial they used? Some people use forty tutorials in a sig. Need they have a really really long statement on the bottom?

I have only ripped the first thing you do, Gradient with Difference, do i have to write here from where i stole one gradient thingy that wasn't even the real tutorial?

Hi when I did it my colors didn't turn out quite right can ou maybe tell me what's wrong with that, like my colors looked more yellowy than red and orange like yours did

Hehe, i dunno actually, i had to name it something, and I think it looks like something from a comic book so i named it Comic Book Explosion :P

Ollie, can you helpme, I don't know how to change the colours in the gradient map,

As you see in this picture there's some boxes under the color-frame or whatever you call it, add 2 more of them so you get 4, change the location:
1st Box: 0%
2nd Box: 50%
3rd Box: 75%
4th Box: 100%

After that double-click every single box (one at the time of course) and change the hex-code which i've typed on the first page.

Most excellent tutorial.
I dont use a sig yet but once I have "used" a few tutorials and created something I like then I will use it. If that makes me a ripper then so be it.
There are always going to be fools who will never be happy so its best to ignore sad losers like 7h0r.
