What are your feelings about guns, and similar issues?

I think that they should allow people to hold guns if they wish, its a security issue in this day and age. I live in the US in a city, and theres all sorts of violence that goes on here.

with you on this one mate depending on the use for it i think they should be allowed like you said in this age you need em for safety and stuff

I think it should be like so:

People could walk right past a copper with a gun, nobody thinks anything of it, then he walks round round the corner, goes in a large place, shoots loads of innocent people, runs off.... And he is free to do it again unless he is caught, thinks like that would be happing ALL the time. Sure there is a slim chance of getting caught with it on your person now but most people don't because of the penalties.

Near where i live there is almost no gun crime, some knife related crimes but nothing too serious. but i know in parts of the US and London you can be walking down the street, and some guy will be shot, almoston a daily ocasion in some places according to some people i know in some rough places in London.

I can't really see and good points for allowing them to be carried around apart from making people feel secure, but that will make things worse anyway...


And where you two said it will increase safety etc. How will it?
All that will do is increase it because the amount of people carrying them around, instead of someone pulling a gun and asking for your cookies and handbag, the old woman would whip out some M4 and blow the fuckers head off, then it would some some kick ass street war resulting in 20deaths,
So whats worse, an old woman having her handbag stolen, or 20 people dead?

Im not excatly against guns, but im highly against making them any more publically available or loosening the laws on them. They are needed in the day and age with wars etc. and for police and army, the second people make it easier for the publioc to get them, the more damage it will cause.

Guns are ok, Guns don't kill people. STUPID people with guns kill people. my dad always had is shotguns for hunting locked up in cases and the key with him at all time. ammo was even in a different area also locked up and me and my brother never even tried to get to them because of this. with the right safety guns are fine.

We invented them, we haven't abolished them. Allow people to own them.

There's a big difference between a handgun and a shotgun. I think shotguns and rifles are fine to have. But I'm against handgun's. Handguns are of no use, they exist only to shoot people, and they're easily concealed.

If you want a weapon to protect your home with then get a shotgun, it'll certainly be more effective than a .45.

Yea but a .45 is much more accessable and easier to handle for people, not as easy as a smaller caliber but easier than a shotgun, espically for women.

i have to say yes because there is no "no strong feelings" option. Guns are bad when its in the wrong hands. while when its used for good reasons they are pretty cool lol.

yea i agree guns should be allowed and any gun u want to have because its ur right to but i think u should have mental tests before getting them instead of teh way they give them now

i'm against because its juss become to dangerous to society....most deaths are by gun point, so guns are juss useless, no need for them

most of the guns to commit crimes are used illegally or stolen... so why would u wnat to take guns away from innocent ppl when there is still going to be the illegal ones then wed have no way to defend ourselves at all

Banning guns isn't gonna change anything. People will just find other ways to kill each other, and there's so many guns around, there's no way you could track them all down and destroy them. Just because you ban something doesn't mean it's gonna go away, They could still be manufactured and distributed illegally, or smuggled in from other countries.

Prohibition didn't work on alcohol, and a ban on guns wouldn't work either, however, I do think that guns shouldn't be so easily accessible. There should be stricter laws on purchasing them, and you shouldn't even be allowed to buy any automatic weapons, they should only be used by the Military and the government.

i agree with apathy exactly what i said they'll get them illegally u cant just destroy every gun... u know how many people that would piss off? theyve spent lots of money on guns for hunting etc for someone to come in and say hey were destroying those lol

columbine was done by kids... and they purchased ammo not guns so ban ammo haha... their parents needed to put the guns up or get those kids help because they were freaks

all thats going on is a blame game and the government is to an extent with the discipline part they let it get this way by letting people off murders sometimes dont even do 10 yrs get out on good behavior wth is that? lol ... the parents are to an extent also .. the boys that shot the kids are too blame the most tho they did it didnt they? they were like 15 and 16 yrs old if they didnt know it was wrong to kill someone then they should of been sent to a mental ward a long time ago haha
columbine is jsut an excuse to take guns away if there was more discipline in america w/ kids and the killing maybe this wouldnt happen so instead of taking guns away maybe they should start with the eye for an eye shit :D

Whenever I see a gun in real life, fear strikes me.

Without firearms, the world wouldn't be what it was today. It would be horrible.

Guns and weapons will be used for evil purposes, no matter what you do.

So in reality, guns save more lives, then they kill (indirectly). I think having the right to own a firearm for protection and hunting, is a right all americans, or people that have that right, should take an advantage of.

I certainly will when I turn 18.


More people die in car crashes each year, then people killed by guns. So why don't we try and reduce the people killed by car crashes instead of guns? = /

Everyone exept Americans should have guns. I am against. Sadly I am also American. Even more sad I am Native American. I can't wield a gun without my arms shivering and pointing it at a white guys head. Very sad, I own a BB pistol.

Why is it that everyone but the americans have guns? That makes no sense.

I am 1/8th native american. What does that have to do with anything? Native americans used guns just like white people did.

Every year in America, about 11 thousand people die from gun shots, in others it is about 100-300.

If you think about the population of the united states, then compare it to other countries, Im sure the percentage of people died would be close.

The united states is the 3rd highest populated country, so obviously there will be more guns. And the 3rd richiest country in the world.

the only guns that should be allowed are hunting rifels and small hand guns
machine pistols should just be banned they have bo use, and heavey wepans such as machine should b only for military use nothing elses and certinally not for public use.

No matter what you do, there will always be guns that are illegal (like submachine guns and such) on the streets. Nothing you can do. =/

I agree, Semi-autos for everyone, Police and Military get the LMGs, the assault rifles, the submachineguns and the assault pistols, full auto stuff and highpower (.50 cal sniper rifles) stuff. Guns have a definite purpose in this world, protection, even somthing as small as a .22 can be a great self defense weapon if not they are fun for target shooting, we as civvies shouldent really need full-auto weapons.

Yeah they are good for "protection". But if no one had a gun, no one else would need one to protect themselves from the other ones.

Even if guns didn't exist, there'd still be people getting killed, just by different means. Violence is the innate nature of man, guns or no guns.

but im still against guns, theyre too riskey ,just look at dumb bull shit like gang fights. innocents get killed over meaningless quarrels. even cops can make mistakes with guns. most people are too irresponsible and reckless to have a gun, or any fire arm imo.

im pro guns, i love guns, dont care for hand pistols tho..i love desert eagles tho, tight gun! the only ones that deserve them are authorities..my dad was a cop for 18 years..i got a 4x10 when i was 8 i think and my dad has alot of guns, alot of black power shotguns...an awesome 12 gauge...even has his AR15 (small version of the carbine aka M16) from being in S.W.A.T.! so if someone intrudes us, ive got the 12 gauge and hes got the 12 gauge (might be turned around tho, hes faster at loading the AR15) but hes gonna take me to the strip pit and shoot some guns

itll be fun! so im pro guns! plus, God put weapons on this Earth for a reason, Hunting! we have bows and spears OUTDATED but guns help us out too! we could use those if we run out of food! then after that...cannibalism :( so that would be bad!

Pro Guns. I think you should be able to have guns. Some people are pansies and need someway to defend themsevles. And some people like to go hunting. I don't know too much about guns or anything but I think you do have to take a saftey course before you can have one, that might just be for hunting though.
