There are hardly any emos, unless by emo you mean scene kid trendwhore motherfucker.
And by goth.. do you just mean dresses in black? Or actually satanic weirdo?
dale is right there are many different uses for the .. names emo and goth, for emo there actually might be some emotional people out there and not manslut trendwhore wannabes who want to sex up every girl they can find who's willing and has a fringe that could block out the sun on atleast 3 countries. For goth there could be like those pussified emo/goth wannabes who dress in black and say stuff like "i'm going to bring a gun into school shoot all the teachers and people and then slit my wrist!!" or the people who're completely satanic and, to me, are just messed up... these are just superfluos words and to ask which extreme people branch off into is stupid because you can't categorise until you reach a category which is that person him or herself... i'd consider myself a stuart, and noooo not the "original" kind don't ever tell me you're original and not a trendwhore because after all these people branch off into "original" they themselves become a trend.. so for the purposes of this topic ruining peoples childhoods and molesting them i'd say this topic sucks..

My friends "emo" (but the whore type) hes not really my friend.. anyway
i dont like either one of them, they both annoy the fuck out of me.

I said Emo, for a few reasons.
1.) Goth kids cut themselves, which is incredibly n00bish.
2.) Goth kids are always like "Hail Satan! 666! I ate your dog!" etc. I don't believe in God or Satan, so that gets old.
3.) Goth chicks are too forceful, all the time. I don't mind it every once in a while, but not all the time.
4.) Goth chicks get too freaky in bed. They're like "Bend over backwards, touch your pinky toe to your nutsack while playing the harp and open your mouth so I can piss in it." No thanks.
5.) Goth music is really bad. I understand that emo can be bad sometimes as well (as in the form of Dashboard Confessional), but it's not as bad as Marilyn Manson. He just...sucks. Emo stuff like Armor For Sleep is cool.
Summary: I just really don't like goth kids.
I'm not a fan of either, although both have good qualities. But both tend to get mixed up into stereotypes like Goths worshipping devil etc.etc.
I have friends that represent both sides and for the most part neither of them adhere to stereotypes. Like Stu said, its the extremists that make up the stereotypes.

Emo is more of a fashion trend along with the music. The problems come when emos think they are profound and emotional, but really they are just gay. And goths hide in the dark so I dont knwo if they are good people or bad people. Emos love teh p3n15.

Two pretty generalized categories... hrm. I don't really know if I have a 'peference', but I'd be EMO before i'd be Goth (dark dressing, satanic, ICP, etc).
There is a difference between goths and satanists but many people seem to forget that... :unsure:
Goth has nothing to do with satanic stuff. They just dress black and listen to music. Duh. I where to perform some kind of satanic ritual I'd rather listen to black metal or something like that. :D
Anyways, I chose emo. I look pretty emo. :P I don't listen to much emo music though.
