I'm on the tennis team here, but the coaches are old and too nice to make us do serious running or sprints. I'm looking to start up on my own...but with the seriously messed up weather here (75 and sunny last monday, then 23 and snowing the NEXT DAY!) it's tough to find a good consistent activity.
I'm looking for something that's pretty tough, or just how you guys get your cardio in.
Some people have suggested stairs, and there are some at the local football field, but i'm going to use that as a last resort.

I run 2.5 - 5 miles a day, 4 days a week. I used to hate running, but for some reason I really enjoy it nowadays. It can help me cool down pretty good if I get upset about something.

Hmm......................it looks like i'm going to start running until i find something better to do.
For me, there aren't really many feelings better than being short of breath after running or sprinting for a long time/really hard. Maybe i'm just a psycho?

I believe columbia did a study that showed sprinting for 90 seconds has the same effect as running for 60 minutes. I think it was columbia, might have been another school.
I still think stairs is the way to go, strengthens the legs for powerful explosions, and it burns your lungs like crazy.
I lived with a nationally ranked boxer, he ran 1 mile everday and did stairs for 15 minutes.

i run about 4k's maybe 3 or 4 times a week, and swim once a week. it helps; you look and feel better one or two weeks after you start. swimming is great, good for your back and shoulders. running helps with stress relief, and you feel good afterwards.

yeah, i'm not really that great of a freestyle swimmer, mostly the breathing underwater thing. It'd be sweet to swim every day though.

Well, if you dont wana run, buy a rowing machine/ go to a gym
It gets your stamina and strength in your arms/chest up like hell.. and its inside.. and you can easily listen to music while on it
