Yes, another thread about marijuana. I felt this was needed since, well. the last Thread was mostly to get people to talk about it.

Cannabis to me is a few things, a passion, a Culture, a medical miracle, an amazing plant and has helped me to open my mind and find out some truths about the world. One of them is the truth that marijuana is really more good than bad. and although i'm not going to try and explain how all bad and good is irrelevant depending on who the person is. Id still like it to be discussed.

So now for some intellectual conversation hopefully. Please if your going to Post anything negative about cannabis make sure to do so and include were you got your information from, since i like to learn. If there are any problems that can come from Cannabis id like to know myself.

I personally hate weed, i have stated this again and will say it again. Before smoking my friends were cool, they actually did things; like sports, playing cards, etc... But now they do nothing but talk about weed and smoke. I dont know how much you smoke but these are kids that do it before school and after school a couple of times. It has also lead them to do worse things like taking pills, a couple people i knew even OD' during school and one had to get his stomach pumped. To some it up theyre all lazy, boring, stupid, and now have a passion for crappy music. Positives anyone?

Well perhaps you just don't understand things on the same level.
Your friend's are still doing things. In fact; there smoking pot, and that's better than playing an organized game of running around on a field for no point at all. At least in my honest opinion. Besides personal adrenaline rushes and the self satisfaction that your better than someone else's competition is far not worth all that effort of listing to other peoples rules. Think, you could be getting stoned and playing games that have very few rules. Like find money for pizza under the couch. haha.

i think i would much rather enjoy some cannabis and listen to music or talk with people and share ideas and thoughts than play any card game. Playing cards is what people do when they have nothing else to do, Or are wishing to gamble.

In fact, anything can lead to other drugs. the only truth pot can lead to other drugs, is that once your open to the black market, your free to buy any thing. Coke, ecstasy, heroine, crack, meth. This all does not come from smoking pot, not a result from smoking pot. In fact the only reason anyone would ever take another drug, would be to take another drug. I think chemicals are horrible, man made drugs god made medicine. Santana said that.

Myself i enjoy music, with spiritual lyrics and meanings. (Santana, yes, grateful dead). as well as amazing guitar players that have spent years learning how to play amazing solo's and amazing songs.
Maybe you haven't ever even listened to the music they do. Have you really listened to it? Most music has a message behind it you know. hard to believe its not just for personal enjoyment.

Few gravity bongs at lunch makes my next class a much more enjoyable learning experience. Go home and smoke a few bowls and than listen to some Yes and do my homework. Good day of school, in fact if you knew how great you feel after getting right stoned with a gravity bong, you'd agree 100% with me that it's a brilliant idea.

So to sum it up, you should grow up and just maybe don't hold such a grudge on something just because it's illegal. Bet you wouldn't be upset with them for drinking a cup of coffee every morning. (which by the way is more addictive and in my opinion a worse of a drug than cannabis is.)

Well they are so much my friends but they are people i used to hang around with and speak to a lot, after starting weed they just went fucked up, cocky and selfish. They don't care about their friends and have thrown their education away.

Sure in most cases it is harmless but not all, and its suposed to cause scitzofrenia (~sp) and similar problems if its smoked for many years.

Well, it's still your personal opinion if there lazy and boring. I bet there other friends find them quite entertaining.

Cannabis is a medicine :P It's been used for thousands of years as a pain-reliever and for headaches. According to my nursing friend, cannabis extracts have been used to treat Multiple Sclerosis patients, and has been known to reduce blockages in arteries. It also has been used in Canada to relieve the intense nausea of chemo patients.

Cannabis is beneficial, so why isn't it widely used? It's because many feel that more research needs to be done before it can be used, but that research is being hampered by the governments, since they would rather stick to their ideals rather than provide a potentially good medicine.

My 'friends' just sit around and say the same fucking phrases over and over again. "True" "True shit" "Nice hit". 3 of them got caught about 2 weeks ago by the cops. So far nothing positive happend for them and its been a year or two.

Drugs = pointless. (unless it's for medicinal purposes)

Smoking = pointless.

Alcahol = pointless.

None of these things benefit you, they may for a few seconds but ultimately it shortens your life and damages your health, which therefore means they are pointless. Unless you think self harm has a point.

Well there are certainly other ways to have fun :P Hard drugs are out of the question, but I feel that cannabis doesn't really deserve its reputation. Some prescription drugs are liable to ruin a person's life if it is abused.

I just think, dont care what maDD says, weed can lead to other drugs A LOT more than "walking, eating, and breathing"... My friends did no other drugs prior to weed, but after weed they did, ahem. If people like getting high off weed, they might want to know what its like triipping on other shit.

And if your talking about tripping as in LSD, mushrooms. In an organized meaningful manner these "drugs" can be extremely spiritual and mind expanding. Not mind reducing.

Have any of you actually researched the facts of cannabis, im talking about sites with real information, not just anti-drug sites.

If you were to bake cannabis it has no harmful effects on your lungs.. wich leaves cannabis doing little to NO harm at all to your body, and in actual fact it's good for your instenal track because of some of the healing properties in the plant and thc.

I dont think i've said one thing about how it affects your lungs, I could care less about it too. All im saying is it effects your personality and with my own personal expierence my friends have become total... i dont know what to call them, but they have got in trouble with the law and NO positive things have come from smoking. Im not in to all this happy horseshit mind expanding hebbe jeebe crap.

I can see what Vermillion is saying, but they must be some pretty irresponsible people, to let it take over their lives. I know people that smoke weed, yet never talk about it, and still play sport, and are more outgoing then Alot of others i know.

People will get bored of weed and move on.

That is a horrible opinion. How can something that damages your body be greater than physical activity, which gives you energy and keeps you fit? I can&#39;t keep fit from smoking weed all day, I&#39;d have to eat all the food in my house.

I will never get bored of smoking pot. and why did you drink when its so harmful for you? specially if you drank at a young age. Smoking pot isnt very harmful to you in the least bit. Well apart for the SMOKE damaging your lungs.. Getting cancer from smoking pot, is really very hard to do, since the thc helps the body in many way&#39;s. There is, however, no solid evidence that smoking marijuana creates any greater benefits than approved medications (including oral THC) now used to treat these patients, relieve their suffering, or mitigate the side effects of their treatment. Drugs are not "spiritual and mind expanding" they are tricking the brain into thinking of things that dont exist. And in my opinion the further away from reality you get the more dangerous it gets.

Most studies in marijuana are pretty much junk science. Governments and educators are reluctant to actually put proper research into it because its own bias towards it.

Its all about balance. MaDD for example approves pot and says its better than sports, but through his &#39;writings&#39; he also takes high drugs like LSD, and Shrooms. Which will fuck you up hardcore, son. However, the Blackmarket doesn&#39;t knock on your door and say &#39;Want drugs?&#39;. You buy weed off of a dealer, Dealer has something else. You smoke weed at a party, get stoned, and a few lines are going around. In your fucked state of mind, you try it. That&#39;s how my friend Kane (reminds of me MaDD) got into coke. Every two weeks he&#39;d do a few lines and just play his guitar, stoned ALL weekend. He&#39;s lost 4 inches in height and suffers from a few other physical problems from the coke. Now he does E every month, and he&#39;s lost 2 inches from the E. He used to be 6&#39;4. he&#39;s 5&#39;10 now. He&#39;s always either on weed or shrooms, and while he&#39;s a good guy to talk to, and he does have fun, he&#39;s fucking himself up. What I do respect is that he doesn&#39;t push it on anyone else. He tells everyone that doesn&#39;t do drugs to stay away if they doubt it, and just let the druggies kill &#39;emselves.

A guy I know is on student council, 85% average, very nice to talk to. He smokes up once every few weeks and he&#39;s fine. He does maybe a few grams in a day and that&#39;s it for a month. Then I know a guy by the name of Jay. He smokes 3 joints every day, before, during, and right after school. And then in the evening he smokes a big one. He is fucking PERMAFRIED. He laughs at EVERYTHING, throws auto tools and parts in the garbage and he spends all class breaking screws in the vise and giggling. He also thinks calling me a &#39;master mechanic&#39; is a pretty good insult.

Guys that do it often are fucked. Its just a fact- everyone that does it more than twice is oddly failing school, are poor, and are just general dicks. Kane is a very nice exception. But 95% of the people that smoke up even just pot, are total fucking pricks. I don&#39;t even talk to them or try and debate the pot- they&#39;re just assholes in general.

Every asshole i&#39;ve met has been addicted to drugs, or addicted to something illegal/frowned upon.

The same with me. I have first hand experience with long term users of the drug, and those were actual observations. Thusly, its logical.

I suppose we all need a degree in International Relations so we could debate about current events as well? :P Every thesis, every position paper has citations from a secondary source because the writer always needs qualified support, regardless of apparent bias. For the best qualified supporting information, look up scholarly journals in JSTOR or something.

I can see where you are coming from though, best way to know the effects of cannabis is to try it out yourself :) I only support cannabis because all the supposed effects did not happen when I used it regularly. I&#39;m still a clear-thinker and still motivated and don&#39;t do other drugs, hell I don&#39;t even drink much.

All the arguments made so far are logical, but some push the lines.

Vermillion, you don&#39;t like cannabis because your friends used to be fun and now they are not because they started smoking it. Thats like saying "How can you critisize smoking when you havn&#39;t done it" when obviously you can critisize smoking because it&#39;s harmful to the body, it&#39;s the same case with most drugs
