:o :o That thing is a thing of beauty! The only thing that is off to me is the background where the 2 parts meet.

might i suggest that you somehow do something to the beam around the top parts becaus its long and takes away the feeling of some parts of the background
i have a great idea maybe make it thin at the top and make it thicker as it gets to the flower
Nice i love it... just one question.... is that ray thingy or whatever a lightining strike or something like that? if it is then it looks very plane i.e. the line is very straight. shouldnt it be a lil shaky? but i like it anyways :D.

The ray thingy, well to be honest i didn't put much effort into it, i was a bit low on time, as i had other things to do such as college work. When I get more time, i'll edit it like zade one said, producing this piece has been hard for me as i've had a really bad infection in my right eye, it makes it hard to see and hurts a lot. When it clears up, i'll revise the beam and make it looks nicer, since i now have a tablet i wanna experiment with what i can do.
Did you made the ray from a guide? 'cus I know a guide that is just like that...

No guides used. Thats so easy a guide wouldn't be needed.
Hmm, i like it quite alot, the only thing is i think that the brushing is a little over contrasted, and i don't like the symmetry. It kinda seems... like half a peice, when symmetry is used.
Nonetheless awesome though, the bg is probably my favourite. And i agree with others about the rays, but you explained about time so fair enough :)
ps: Did you use your new tablet with this ^_^ ^_^
Yeah I did, and its not as symetric as my other pieces. Flower isn't symetrical if you look closely.
There was a tutorial somewhere on how to make some ray. I used the tut as a skeleton and added my own stuff and got this:

I could probably find you the tutorial and you could re-edit it into yours.

the stock photo was cut off a bottom so it was either that or straight line.
that is insane man, good good job. If you could make a bg out of it i would <3 you forever
