I dont have a DVD burner on my comp but once for a project I firewired the footage from premiere to my camera and recorded it via composite cables to a DVD Player/Burner on my T.V.

The software gave me tons of problems so I just uninstalled it, and used a regular CD burner application. Since I don't usually burn DVD's it wasn't a problem until now.Quote:

I'm just looking for good software that can decode DivX and Vxid movies and burn them as a video onto a DVD. I know there's some out there, but the ones i've tried in the past sucked. I need something good.

erm u mean like serious DVD format? if then im sorry i've never done any like this. the best is to buy DVD player which support Divx Xvid files :)))
ah, i'd love to know about this if any solutions arise also. I don't have a dvd burner, but our school's video club computers all do!!!!!!1 :-p. I have a CRAPLOAD of anime i would love to watch full screen, though it's horribly pixellated at that resolution.
Who gives a damn though?
i would like to know how to do this too btw does anymore know how to watch .AIV movies on my computer.. I tired to watch movies wit Ares, Win Amp, Windows Media and Real Player but none of them works .. i can only hear the sound but no pictures..

All AVI. files dont work.. is there a way I can save it as a mpg?
do you have the directshow codec? also, get the haali media spliter. Try VLC player.
if that doesn't work, try The Core Media Player (TCMP)
Do you know where I can download that?
Well. From my experince, the easiet way to BURN a dvd is in native format.
(.VOB)
This allows for many programs to work with it. So if you could convert it to .VOB, then you could easily burn the dvd with software like DVDShrink, Nero, whatever. So if that helped any I don't know. I find it just easier to rip, and burn DVD's these days then downloading them.
Of course, only use non-copyrighted DVD's, and software! ;) Just to be on the "safe" side of things.
Just google DVDshrink, and you'll good to go.
dear god, like nobody has any idea what i'm talking about.
most dvd burners have an auto conversion tool that will convert any video file you have, provided you have the correct codecs.
I have AVI's, not DVD's. Okay? They are on my computer. I want to burn them onto a DVD as a regular DVD movie. Like you'd get from blockbuster. I need a DVD burning suite like Nero, but free. I don't need to shrink DVD's, I don't need to copy DVD's. I just need to burn avi's to a dvd as the dvd format.
I would also like to know how to do this, I went into Nero Express and clicked on a AVI file to add and it said file is not supported?? Any idea?
43, hey, there aren't any FREE ones. = /
