Official GFXVoid Magazine Competition!

Hey there people! This is the OFFICIAL GFXVoid Magazine Competition! I hope your up for a good competition beacuse this one will be Flat-out dirty. Haha.

There will be 5 sections, in which you can enter!!

For each category I will give details, on how to enter and such.


Section #1: The Articles!

For this section you must write an article. These articles may be off-topic! Try to be serious, and make yourself look professional. Do a spell check, if enter. If the YOUR article is chosen to be entered, It will become property of GFXVoid, and you no longer have copyright to it! Im not trying to be mean, just keeping clear. Use proper english!


Section #2: The Design!

YES, You and You alone can design the GFXvoid magazine! This will be the BG for the magazine cover, and will be on most pages! Make sure to make it look nice. You may want to view your design in Adobe InDesign before submitting it, as that is what the magazine will be compiled in.


Section #3: The Advertising!

The magazine will a have a section JUST for advertisement! You can add sites, forums, anything! Just post a link, or a photocopy of the advertisment. I will decide what in the end will be advertised! (If you own the advertising company/website/whatever you may design a small and large advertisment, which may or may not be used.)

Section #4: The Art!

If you want some of your art, or have permission to post some elses art, posted in the magazine, post it here! The Staff (or me, or a group of people) will decide what goes in! Make sure if it's not your art, you have 100% permission to post some elses art!

Section #5: The Free Form Section!

If there is something you can think of that would be cool to have in the magazine (or anything related to the magazine), post it! The free form section allows for things that don't fit into the other sections. Please make sure it's appropriate!



This is your magazine! YOU CAN INFLUENCE IT, DO IT! Have fun!

Note: Like stated; when you decide to enter something to the magazine, it becomes public domain. Make sure of this! Don't enter something that you don't want copied or reproduced! I can't gurantee it will be safe!

Note 2: When entering something (like Pictures, Designs, ect.) you can use Adobe InDesign to make sure it looks right! If it dosen't look right when added to the magazine it will changed, or modified!

Note 3: All entered materials will most likely not be entered. This will be decided either by the following means; By my decision alone; By a group decision of the Staff; By a group decision of members.

nice nice, i would add to magazine surely some interview page imo it rly should be there ;) also some story of soma artist or somethin like that with some of persons pictures etc, that'd be cool imo :)

Q1: by adverts do u mean like were supposed to do some banners for the magazine,etc?

Q2: where exctly will be placed this design? itll be like backround of it? or wtf, imo we should have on every single one number of magazine different cover, and if all the pages/mainpages of the magazines would be same picture just with diffrnt titles it would suck imho...

Haha, dont worry about the design. Just deisgn something if you want, then we will see how to incoporate it! Yes, by adverts I mean, logos, banners, buttons, ect.

GfxVoid is under new Administration, Please Welcome John to the site. Of course we know what your thinking. Is John really going to be the best thing for the Void? Will he make even better than it was at the height of its existence? Well here's what he has to say.

Now Of course Ryan Eagle (Tacox) was a great admin, and a great friend to many of the Voidians. He started the void off right, talking to each and every one of the members who posted here. He was an amazing leader who got this whole site organized and up and running. Of course, now we have john. Who knows he could be the best thing that ever happened to the Void.

I don't usually participate in these competitions, but I actually might have a go at this one. I might write an article, though writing is definately not one of my strengths. I'm looking forward to seeing the results of this competition.

For design, what will the page size be? Letter, Legal, or larger?

Neither, just make something any size. It can be adjusted easily.

This is a good idea, but the void is basically done. It'll never be up to where it was. It'll never take off again like it did in the beginning. It's just...cashed. I don't know how much work you'll want to put into a magazine, if the forums not up to full speed you know.

I'm not coming back here, just putting in my two cents.

Honestly, he is right about a few things. GFXVoid is not what it used to be, and will probably never be as active as it was. However, I think there is a chance on improving the Void, and things could change.

so what ever happened to the magazine?

Instead of making a PDF type form, we are going to make an online website, and it will be the main page. =)

So it will be at www.gfxvoid.com

Then the forums on vB will be www.gfxvoid.com/forums
