What do you like better firefox or internet explorer?

Firefox because opening explorer releases a huge virus we traped in explorers programs. Plus firefox is just plain cool.

Firefox = Popup blocker, smells like fresh lemons, faster, used tabs before ie :) and it has a fox liek omgawd!

Avant Browser anyone? IE is an obvious no but I don't like FireFox either, too much false advertising and the like (read: FireFox Myths); probably the only plus for using FF is the plethora of extensions out there. Besides, it's even slower than IE, not to mention the false sense its false sense of security (FF is hardly less vulnerable than IE, Avant and Opera are far more secure). I've tried Opera as well and even though it has been proven to be the fastest browser out there, the interface was lacking compared to Avant.

By the way, anyone try IE7 Beta? I checked it out and I thought the interface was terrible, a step back from IE6. Looks like the only visual improvement was the glossy buttons, but those are already starting to get old. I got a laugh from their main page, it said something like "We heard you. You said you wanted it simpler and easier," though it really sounds like they're just saying how pissed they'll be when everyone still hates it.

I find it humorous that you bash IE so much, yet you supprt a browser that was built entirely off of the IE engine. Yup, that's right, Avant is the spawn of Internet Explorer. Now you know.

umm.. FF is definatly faster then IE. dont know where you got that idea from. That whole myth site is just a FF bashing site and an Opera Fluffer haven. Pages like that make me laugh that people believe what ever they read... on the internet. Many of those quotes about FF are outdated, most of which were outdated when newer versions of opera/IE came out. why do i like FF? because im used to it. why dont i like opera? because i've never used it. its a thing of comfort.

That's precisely why I prefer Avant, it's compatible with all IE compatible sites, which is the majority, over FF. Besides, the main thing I was bashing IE for was the awful interface, which looks just fine to me on Avant. It's just a bonus that it's more secure and faster.

What is there not to believe? Sources are provided, and they've tested FF 1.5 and 2.0 for speeds, at the very least. I'd tell you to read the entire page before you start doubting it (especially the 'Disputes' section), but I can see right away that your opinion about that site will probably not change. It's ironic that you say it's funny that people believe anything they read on the net, as it's probably the primary cause of these myths. I do agree with that last bit you said; I'm comfortable with Avant as you and many others are with FF. I'm just annoyed at the recent dominance of FF thanks to these myths (not necessarily here, I'm talking in general). It's not like I expect FF users to be like 'omg FF isn't perfect I hate it now!' but rather to let others know that it just isn't perfect.

As for Avant Browser, I like it, and it doesn't have enough love. So, I let people know about it. If people like it, that's cool; if not, then that's cool as well.
