Snowboards

Snow's coming , and I'm running a snowboard shop. So if you guys need equipment, hit me up. My shop specializes in Arbor we carry the full line snowboards, longboards, and clothing. We should, hopefully, have our website up soon. But if you want anything specific just give me a shout. Right now we carry Arbor, Flow (boards, boots, and bindings), and Santa Cruz. If we don't have it, we can order it.

hmm do you have any referance sites like pictures of boards or some infor and shit on the different stuff yo umight sell if not on your own website but n others? and also some prices and shit.. like don't to any trouble i'm not certain im' going to try and go hit the snow this year but yeah ^__^

Deadloader, check out www.arborsports.com pretty much everything they have we sell. I don't think they list the prices on the website. but anything that interests you I can give you a price for. Just get like 4 boards that you're interested in and I'll give you the low down on them.

Also check out www.flow.com we carry alot of their boards.

Oh yeah FYI we're not just a snowboard shop, we also do skateboards. So anyone that's in a non-snow area, w00t w00t.

Both. We carry Independent Trucks, Krux Trucks, Bullet and Ricta Wheels, Arbec 3&5 bearings, Independent misc. hardware (nuts and bolts), Santa Cruz decks (only, currently). I'm thinking about getting in Element and Flip as well. But this isn't the season for it. Arbor also has some cool alternative boards, cruisers for flowing down the hill, and hybrid boards for hitting the park and riding back home afterwards. They also make these little boards called Pocket Rocket which is tiny but rides great. It's perfect if you're looking for something to kick around town, but is easy to store.

I don't own the shop. I run it though. The owner is awesome, he hired me to take the shop off his hands so he can focus on his other business. So I have free reign, as long as it doesn't burn down.

We don't carry Rome currently. But it's something I'll look into, It's hard to tell how they'll do in the long run. They're really young still.

Height/Weight/Shoe Size/Stance (Goofy or Regular). For the whole shabang (board, boots, bindings) you're looking at about $350-$600. We don't sell starter equipment per sei. Most of our inventory is on the high-end side. But if you want something good, that will last you more than a year before you outgrow it (skill wise) I can deffinetly put together a package for a good price.

Specifically we have some of last years Santa Cruz boards which I can give you a good price on. I'd set you up with Flow FL55 bindings. They're about $110 and really worth the money. We've got some cheaper bindings around, but you don't want them. I don't know, off the top of my head, what boots we have in stock but I can find out. I know we carry Flow Assualt, Zone, and Vector boots, but if you're looking for something cheap you don't want those.

Oh man, let me set you up with some Flow bindings. You'll love me for it. I know the toe cap looks like a great idea, but it wiggles off real easy. The Flows use a 3D powerstrap which covers the entire top of the boot. It completely covers the foot, totally eliminating pressure points. And if you haven't seen the reclining high-back, you've missed out on the biggest news to ever hit snowboarding. No more strapping in, you just pull a tab on the back, flip down the high-back, slide your foot in and put the high-back up. you're strapped in and ready to go in under 5 seconds, no sitting, no ratcheting just a consistent tight fit.

ewww no flow bindings are noooot cool, they break really easily
and sometimes if your not very good and land hard the high back pops down.

well...im not sure about the new ones and if they have changed anything, but i know that the ones my buddy had last year did that

I never liked flow bindings...
1. They're pretty ugly looking
2. I tried them once, and didn't like it at all.


I'm going with normal bindings all the way.
IMO Burton bindings pwn.

ahh dale have you ever beem to milton keynes? awesome indoor slope there, loads of fun and plenty of competitions on to watch and stuff its at Xscape loads of shops for that kind of stuff aswell, all the snow surf and skate shops, not sure how far it is away from you but its well worth a day out to it.

Ah i don't think it's that far from me, i always get Milton Keynes confused with Ashton Keynes... Ashton Keynes is a big lake, where you basically just swim, and they have a man made beach, it's pretty cool... and all the lakes in that area have water skiing, canoeing, kayaking etc...

I've done like.. indoor snowboarding Once in london :p at some convention thing.. was ace... i really wanna go properly :D

there's a place near me.. not sure where i think it begins with an R anyways it's this really hilly place and they got a nice outdoor ski slope, isn't the best mind but it gives me time to practise and shit.. got some neat trick run too ^_^

I want a good pair of flow bindings. I dunno bout people's complaints but my buddy has them and they kick ass. He jumps off the lift, snaps them up, and goes down the hill, without even pausing. By the time the rest of us finish binding our feet in he's halfway down the run.

i'm sticking with my Drake Matrixs for now :)

1) If you think flows are ugly, try checking the website. They haven't made an ugly pair since 2000.

2) If your popping the back off during a run then you've either got them strapped in wrong, or you're riding on some low-end ones and beating them too hard. You get what you pay for kids, get bindings for your skill level and riding type.

I'm with Illegal, I'm getting a pair of white Pro series. And maybe couple it with an Arbor Draft or Element ALT.

burton bindings are sick, and flows look pretty sweet, and what with the whole ez strap in thing they could be tight, but i heard that they are

2. really expensive
3. really breakable

im 6'2, 155 lbs, size 11 shoe, and goofy i guess(im left sided everything) throw something at me with links and i'll take a look into it.

goofy is right foot forward btw.

your gear setup doesnt matter if your goofy/regular though, its easy to switch. just try both and see whats more comfortable.
i'd suggest getting a board on the smaller end, and some sturdy bindings

I'll most likely be more comfortable with my left foot forward. That isnt unusual for a left footed person is it? Thats how I ride a skateboard atleast.

oh, if you skate regular, then you'll almost 100% be regular on snowboard.

I always have used Burton bindings, and probably always will.

What is a good begginer board? What length should I get? Im sure I can find a nicely priced one on ebay, used or not.

used would be better for a beginner, but make sure its not totally thrashed
and it should go about to your mouth

yah for a beginner, it dosnt really matter what kind of board you have, as long as its not like...in peices haha

To my mouth from my feet im thinking is about 172-173 cm. Im about 6'2. That ok you guys think? What are the general lengths around that area?

Well there's more to consider than just your height. If you're 6'2" but weigh 135lbs you shouldn't be riding a 170cm.

Generally you want it to hit between the bottom of your chin and your lower lip. if you're a beginner it should be a bit shorter. Just about at your chin. But like I said, weight also effects it. If you're really thin you might want to try something just below your chin. The smaller the board, the eaiser it is to ride, but the less surface area you have to keep you sliding.

Before anyone argues about sizing with me, I worked at a ski resort sizing people for rental equipment for a long time. I'm trained, you're not. Shutup.
