You have lots of space, and dont use much therefore giving it a cramped yet spaced look and i hate it =[ I normally like small layoutrs like this, but cramming so much into it? You need to learn to develop layouts aswell as create graphical websites XD
A website without a good layout = pointless.
i think it rocks. i love that wide spaces^^ i love that clean and smooth appearence, the soft colors. maybe it´s hard to read the text and to fidn the text you´re looking for in the body.
Well, you see the client did want it that size with the information. I want it to be different, plus big text looks fugly, and i was working on a low resolution. I got 231 favourites on that on deviantart before I was fricking banned for swearing. Uh.. oh.
what program did you use? Dreamweaver or what?
Photoshop with layer slicing then microsoft frontpage with html.
Jesus, never use frontpage... please...
And layer slicing generally has the result of generating messy code.
However, my main gripe: Background images. Background images must be replicable. Or nonexistent. In my view, the latter, but your choice. From the look of those designs, while they may look fine on a 1024x768 screen, as soon as you get to a larger size, goodbye to acceptable background.
The layout is easly resizable and as yo ucan seethe backround is symmetrical meaning it can go on and on and on, without changing that much anyway. FRONT PAGE FTW LIVE WITH IT KID!
What is your DA?
availer.deviantart.com its banned xD.
Damn, wanted to see all your work =[
Or have you posted it all?
lol, theres no way u could possibly ever code those designs in frontpage without messing it all, imho.
Ive posted the newest, Like the lastest 4 month of work. I did code it, and im sure its still live, its a myspace layout.
they look pretty good. do you have a live one?
the second one is really good. but i don't like the navigation. :]
Thanks.
No, I dont think so. Mind you ive only made 5 good designs.
no offense but a cool design is worthless if you can't put it online. that's the whole reason why sites that look like the designs you have here are held in such high regard. Anyone can make that look by following a couple of tutorials, but actually making it functional is the hard part.
I agree, while your artwork is done very well, there are a few things you will run into that aren't impossible by any means but will be difficult to code in their current state.
While I encourage you to try since this is quite a nice layout, I believe it's going to take quite a bit of work. But hey for a great layout you have to spend more time to make it work well to :).
The scrollbars (And by extension corresponding textboxes) would have to be done in flash, methinks; Extensive graphics also would be required.
However, my personal view goes like this: I'd rather have a simple website that takes a second to load than some cool but horribly complicated one that takes a minute to load. Really, websites are about the content and the navigation, not the graphics... *Shrug* My two cents.
That shows your close mindedness and lack of innovation, if you dont treat web designing as an art, youll get no where. You wont wow people, it is not hard to code, and ive done it, ive coded it and it works perfectly fine and i shall make it live soon, you should seriously not treat designs like that, the more code centered it is the worse it gets. The graphics, flash etc. give it a WOW factor, also it makes you much more creative and scream out from the crowd.
Why did your dA get banned/deleted?
Theyre ok I guess, nothing special to me.
It got banned because I insulted a staff member for deleting some of my work for no apparant reason. Thanks for the comments. Most web designs can be coded, code is very flexible im sure you know that.
A website is about the content (aka. text) so i dont know why you keep naging about the graphics?
sure if its a gallery or album of some kind it might be understandable but now it looks like it isnt.
When designing websites (if your taking a course on it) the teachers usually tells you functionality comes first.
but you have some nice ides and i think you should try working on them.
A tip might be to not have such busy and saturated backgrounds since it might take attention from the content.
He nags because he is stuck up and think he knows everything in the Galaxy.
+ Yeah Tasty is right.
I agree with that ben said in one of the first replies to this thread. Graphically and artistically your awesome, you just need to work on your logical layout of content.
Wrong.
I am a website designer. And I think I could put them together online.

I design websites and code them.
I could also, possibly, shove those templates online for you. So you can view them like that.
Your websites aren't bad; and I will not go into a ton of detail of what you should improve. But the graphical feel of them is good. As others said; it's your spacial feel that needs touching upon.
